Last week Andy was good enough to give us all a peek at this new upcoming theme of figures "Belles of The Battlefield"
As we can see these Napoleonic figures will be the first releases. If you had to pick 3 follow on releases for this series,
what would they be ? Mine would all be WWII based......German Frauleins.......G.I. Gals......Russian Gals.
Personally I am looking forward to adding these Gals to my figure collection.

Hi Wayne,
All of your suggestions are noteworthy...and along with several others made by collectors here I am giving them very careful consideration. As I may have said previously there are a few already in the production process as I 'one-fingerdly' tap out this message...And I just know there will be more!

Best wishes and happy collecting, Andy.

As it's a toy soldier forum, I would prefer more focus on the combattants.

We all love the ladies, but there are other forums for those who want to further explore their beauty.:smile2:

Fully appreciate your point-of-view however as over 99 percent of our particular output is Military... I really don't think a few solo figures such as these here are any kind of a major ... or even minor distraction...Just a bit of fun...and fluff!

Best wishes and happy collecting, Andy.

Hi Bridport,

What better a forum to discuss these than here on a Toy Soldier forum ? I have a "TON" of combatants already mostly WWII.
My own theme picks are all WWII. Just curious what ideas other collector's may have to add to the conversation.
As they say here in Texas....The only bad idea is the one not brought up and mentioned. In the meantime I will go
for the Napoleonic Lady with the White pants !

Being a Great War collector one must have 'Belle' has to be Mata Hari surely! You would have my money Andy in a heart beat.

Not exactly 'Belles' but any figures along these lines will get my money as well.

As mentioned in the other thread .... a few Japanese Geisha Girls to go along with the JN series .... or maybe some Japanese camp girls.

American girls for Boyington and the flyers.

Also some American gals for the USN sailors ... something like Thomas Gunn did with the dancing ladies and sailors.

[...]or maybe some Japanese camp girls.[...]

Did a lot more reading than posting when "the thread" was active the other day. I'm a big boy, and not a whole lot in the way of the suggested subject matter was apt to rankle. The one exception was a reference to "comfort women." Fellas, those poor girls were freaking sex-slaves. I've seen propaganda pictures of them with big smiles on their faces, but 3/4 of them died. Most of the survivors were left infertile by the ongoing abuse and STD that they endured. How can anyone possibly entertain the notion of incorporating that kind of depravity into a display in their home? In closing, let me pre-apologize to LaRRy. There's an excellent chance that his "camp girls" were volunteers in service of the Emperor. As for the rest of those of those poor gals, KC/Andy, for ***'s sake, let 'em RIP.

My own theme picks are all WWII. Wayne

Generally, I can agree with most of the ideas and suggestions proffered in this thread..so far.
However I agree with those that would not want to see 'Comfort Women' featured...Every army in history has had its 'Camp Followers' from Roman times all the way up to the Napoleonic era and well into the 20th. century...The majority following of their own volition either in pursuit of food, security, a warm blanket and, of course, for money.

'Comfort Women' were girls and young women forced by the Japanese Army to 'service' their men in the most cruel and degrading fashion...and many suffered accordingly.

So, while K&C will design and produce a relatively small number of 'camp followers' throughout different historical eras...The tragically sad 'Comfort Women' will not be among them!

Best wishes and happy collecting, Andy.

I am pleased to hear this Andy. Thanks

Unless it's a civilian range (such as Streets of Old Hong Kong) or a person is a combatant (like Joan of Arc), involved in the war effort (such as the aircraft woman from the Battle of Britain) or a refugee, I don't see the necessity of any other kind of figure and certainly not a prostitute. I would obviously welcome important figures like Golda Meir and Leni Riefenstahl (a fascinating figure in her own right).

For those who may not know, K & C made Joan for Toy Soldiers France and the other figure for Del Prado.

Whenever I think of female IDF the name Dahlia Lavi springs to mind {sm3} as in Matt Helm / Dean Martin movie The Silencers. I note she passed away recently.

Whenever I think of Israeli girl soldiers I think of that great looking 'Wonder Woman' actress...According to her bio she's ex IDF...Now that's a good idea!!!
All the best, Andy.

Moe ... my error in the use of the word "comfort women". I was actually referring to the women who joined the Japanese soldiers on their own free will .. BUT not the Korean or Chinese women who were forced into prostitution ... sorry my bad. I did say Geisha in an earlier post and that was my intention.:redface2:
