Ever stumble upon a soldier or two in a place you'd never dream of finding them? A few years ago I was at an independently-owned party supply store in Jacksonville that happened to be going out of business. We were picking up a few things for a birthday when I spotted a ziploc full of red figures among a small assortment of party favors. They sported no description of any kind, just a sticker with $5 penned on it. I picked them up and found they were decently-done Airfix American Indian clones.

About 10 years ago my wife and I were in this antique shop in Pottsbville, PA. Way in the back, under old boxes and bags were piles of Marx Johnny West figures and accessories. I got them for really good price and resold them. That was fun.

About 3 weeks ago I was at a yard sale. Saw this box on the ground, looked like old metal toy soldiers. Box was very heavy. I bought the whole box for $5.00. When I got home I found out they were old Barclay and Manoil hollowcast toys soldiers from the 40's and 50's. Various poses, various condition, but were over 60 figures in the box. This was a nice surprise.
