Hi all, since Halloween is right around the corner and is one of my favorite times of the year thought about what was or is everyones most favorite costume?? myself was one year (10-12 years ago) I went as Buckwheat from the little rascals t.v. show, I had the big afro and the torn up overalls but the black make up I used was shoe polish and the next morning after a all nite Halloween party I had to be at work at 6 in the morning and I couldn't get all the shoe polish off my face.. it was a long day, my friend tied a shoe to his head and went as a piece of gum under a shoe he won first place for originality ha!!!..Sammy

Hard to pick a favorite. It's been a few years since I've done a costume, but some in previous years have included: Gumby, Red shirted random Star Trek crew member, Art Garfunkel, Spidey.....just to name a few. Fun stuff. :)

You mean the cannon fodder guys who lasted about 3 1/2 minutes into the show?:D For my own favoite Halloween costume it's a Knight outfit...I'd probably last less then 3 1/2 minutes in medieval combat:eek:!

The Invisible Man, or the Mummy. When it comes to scratching a costume together, last-minute, Ace bandages are your best friend. Though, they do make bobbing for apples more of an adventure.

Prost!

This is one of my favorites :)

You should see me in a wig and make-up. I make one very ugly woman. Heck, I am one ugly guy so why should gender be a difference maker.

Last year our son Ben (9 at the time) put on a tie and sportcoat and went as a member of the IRS Audit team. Scared the willies out of a lot of people. A couple even slammed the door in his face :)

By the end of the night, the neighbor kid who was with us (in a typical scary mask) started ringing the doorbell and announcing - HE'S AN IRS AGENT!

Halloween increasingly appears to be an event marketed for adults. I took my five year old into one of these halloween stores recently and 2/3 of the outfits were for adults - and by that I mean ADULTS. Even most of the costumes for kids bordered on the outlandish. And I'm talking smaller kids not just teenagers. Can't imagine any parent allowing their kid to wear that stuff.

My favorite costume would have to be my son's from last year. My mom has always made his costumes - she has become quite the seamstress as a hobby since her retirement - and she made him a Lone Ranger outfit. It was the coolest thing - she even made the holsters with the silver tooling and everything. I would have killed for it as a kid. The best part is he still plays in it - when he isn't planning out his career as a major league baseball or NFL player as he can't decide which it will be just yet. :D

Right, there are a lot of costumes, especially aimed at girls, that are really a little mature for the average 9 or 10-year-old.

Eric, that is a wicked cool costume! I'm with you, I would have loved that, too.

I was always a Marine, and my brother always went as Batman.

I found Ben's picture...

Don't cheat on your taxes or you face HIM!

(note, in Minnesota the costume goes OVER the winter jacket...)

Yes, that is precisely the guy I was trying to portray. Think of all the horrible ways those poor unsuspecting fellows met their demise. :)
