Hi.

I am considering making a small purchase of five Del Prado Napoleonics. I am not an expert in Napoleonic uniforms, so I was wondering if anyone on the forum could advise me on the top five Del Prado Napoleonics? These could be foot soldiers or cavalry.

If possible, please include photos.

Regards,

Wow...difficult...this is of course strictly a matter of taste and those particular nations, units, and uniforms that interest you. Generally, Del Prado has done well with accuracy in their Napoleonic range. Many of the poses are static, so depending on how you plan to use these figures, you may want to look carefully at the various series they have produced over the years, most of which are still available. I think I have all of the first series, and I am struggling to think of one or two that I can pick out as better than others, but I never really was one for superlatives. So many of them are good for different reasons. I thought they did a nice job with the 1st Royal Dragoons Trooper (British, mounted); the sculpt on the grazing horse is particularly elegant. I also quite like the Prussian Reserve Musketman, but again...a matter of taste.

I am with Nicholas. They are all a great value, so it depends on what you like. i have a small vignette with the french eagle bearer, the Frend mounted standard bearer, Napoleon, and the french pioneer, and a couple of Fench soldiers and officers all gathered in a grouping- it looks great!
