I really love these figures. They paint up well too! Best horses that I have ever seen in plastic.

AKA "Lord Kilwillie",

Nice, but don't follow the TSSD painting guide. That forage cap should be plain blue unless it's some volunteer unit. The rolled blanket should be a grayish brown and the poncho roll, semi gloss black. Paint the canteen cover dark blue or the same color as the blanket roll. Contractors covered them with blanket scraps. TSSD added a neckerchief so that these figures could be western to. Yellow is a Hollywood addition. It can be any color with printed designs.

The Box Art on this set is a pretty good quick guide.

You never know when you are going to run into an "expert."

I was going for striking! Sometimes life is boring! Thank you for the info. I know nothing about the Cavalry really. I love the TSSD horses! Will be posting more pics shortly.

I am taking special care to paint horses. I am a lover of the equine. Tatoos, pictures, whatever. Used to ride every day.

I am really enjoying these figures.I have painted quite a few plus the Cavalry.
Not quite finished. I have some inking to do, base work and whatnot. Have to work on those white horses! They are tough to get right.
Also need to get this f stop thing figured out.

Nice paintwork Michael. They look a lot better painted up. Hmmm, have to get some soon.

Seems you've the magical brush working overtime and with great relsults my Lord General...........The Lt.

Hate to be an "authenticity Nazi" but why the red artillery trim on the trooper with the pistol? Also the circular yellow trim on the tops of the kepi wasn't "regulation." TSSD has this color style on their site but it's not right. The blanket rolls should be brownish gray for the wool blanket.

I see you have the front rolls painted as the "poncho" in black or the overcoat in blue which is really good.

All in all a really good paint job! I've got about 20 painted as Union but I just do them in one color.

KV,

These look alright! Are you going to paint up a set of Confederates to match against these?
