The WBC exhibition games are actually fun to watch.
I enjoy watching the spring training games, too. I like seeing the prospects teams have acquired or the farm hands they're bringing up, guys who have been traded or took free agency, to see how they do with their new teams. New managers and coaches. It's fun to get a look before the season starts.

I enjoy minor league games for the same reasons, to see how the prospects look, and then see who gets called up, and who makes the transition to the next level. You might not realize it, but some guys are career minor-leaguers. Some get to The Show but can't quite hang on. Most of those guys will spend their careers at Triple-A. Then there are some who can't make it past Double-A. I saw some players like that at Reading. One player spent 8 years at Double-A before retiring. He became an instructor and started a baseball clinic. Generally, more interesting, more true to baseball's roots, than the majors. And still a bargain, compared to going to major-league games.

Prost!
