MLB 2026 (2 Viewers)

NESN broadcasts about 130 games a year, which is part of my cable package.

Another 15 or so are on FOX or ESPN, both of which are free.

The remaining games are usually Friday night home games that the owner Henry forces you to watch on Apple TV, WHICH I DO NOT HAVE AND REFUSE TO PAY FOR.

So only about 10% of the games are on a pay to view basis which I will not be watching; the way they are going, I won't be watching many of the NESN games either, they suck.
I do think streaming should have MLB games for a national audience.

However, networks like NESN should still broadcast all of the a Red Sox games in their local markets.

I misunderstood you, I thought you had to pay for the whole thing. 130 is not bad. I don’t think you can blame Apple on Henry. I think that’s a Manfred thing.
Whoever is to blame, it's complete BS, yet another cash grab by millioinaires, more like billionaires.

I never understood the need to blackout local games. Do they think that's going to make a lot more people go to the games. Not really . And the prices now I'm not paying to go see .120 hitters strike out 3 times and pitchers who can't pitch more than 3 innings a week.

Exactly.

I am a dedicated Giants fan who watches most of their local broadcasts.

I have never packed up my things, driven 45 minutes, walked another 30 to a seat just to watch a game that was blacked out on locally.

A week into the season and the gashouse gorillas and the Dodgers are blitzkrieging their way through MLB on a collision course for a meeting in the WS.

Shocking; gee, the way those two teams spend money has nothing to do with this I'm sure, just some crazy coincidence.

The Dodgers were down 6-1 yesterday and getting a beatdown when I turned it off in disgust. They somehow won 8-6. The stands were half empty on Sunday. Maybe it's time to lower those $200 per ticket prices in DC. That is one of the lamest home crowds that I have ever seen. Less noise than the local library. They were advertising a sleeveless hoodie promo for an upcoming game. Who exactly wears those? Rocky Balboa?

The Dodgers hit five HRs off five different Blue Jay pitchers last night in a 14-2 massacre. No joy around the igloos. That beatdown might light a fire under the Jays, however. The scary thing about the Dodgers is that they have a ton of young talent waiting to come up. Guys like James Tibbs who they got from the Giants via the Red Sox. He had 7 HR is his first 9 Triple A games.

He was boiled butt here last year, did nothing in 140 at bats, he's still not a top 100 guy because there are too many limitations to his game; ie, he's a horrible outfielder, beyond bad.

I'm sure the Dodgers being the Dodgers, they'll find a sucker to pay too much for him and he never amounts to much, just like all the other Dodgers flameouts.

The pundits are talking him up. He is on fire in the minor leagues. So we will see.

The Giants gave up on him, the RS gave up on him after a few months; sometimes guys take a while to get it together, or more to the point, get coaches around them who can tap into their talent, maybe the Dodgers minor league coaches are better coaches than he's had in the past, time will tell.
