I'm looking to find a website or something that has photos of their retired sets from the British Colonial Army period, specifically York and Lancaster Regiments (YL), Gordon Highlanders (GH), Black Watch (BW) and Coldstream Guards (CG).

Also looking for photos of the Indian Army sets: Khyber Rifles (KR), Bengal Lancers (SKC) and 16th Lancers (16.L).

Any help would be appreciated.

I gave up looking for these photos a while ago. The closest I ever got was on a website for tradewind direct out of Australia I think, but that is about it. All I have seen is pieced together from occasional sitings on Ebay and the odd set here and there at shows. I know they also did some Royal Marines from 1880's as well. Good luck with your search.

Dave,

Thanks for the response. Too bad. There are some sets on ebay that are nice but getting a little expensive. I think I may have found a source for some of these sets but I'm not sure the site has been updated. Saw a bunch of these in Chicago. Guess I shouldn't have passed them up. Oh, well.

Brad, there is a guy in Kentucky named Tim Coyle who seems to have some of these sets at times. He was in Chicago this year with some and his business is called TNC enterprises. You might try looking him up on the internet to make an inquiry.

Dave,

Thanks. I was looking at the Frontline list of dealers and have his name. I will give him a call next week.

Tim At Tnc In Elisabethtown Kentuckey, Write Next To Fort Knox. I Started Buying Glossy Frontline From Him In 1993. He Was A Big Dealer But You Better Call Him Soon Because I Think He Has Turned To Selling Britains. But He Did Carry A Full Range Of Frontline

Well, I've been striking out on finding sets although I did land a BW 1 on a buy it now on ebay yesterday.

Hi Brad,

I have several sets from this period they are just about some of the finest Frontline did I think you will really enjoy them. I will try and get them out of my storage trunk and take some pictures. I wish I had more space I would have these out to be sure.

Here are my Sikhs

All the best

Dave

Dave,

Great looking set. I think I saw a set like that in Chicago and thought about it but passed. Won't make any more dumb moves like that (if I get the chance).

Would love to see your other sets. Once I get the Blackwatch, I will post a photo.

Hi Brad,

Yes I actually passed on these guys a long time back for the figure I am posting now. It took me a very long time to find them again so try not to make that mistake too often. So here is the Mounted Dervish from this run I hope you enjoy it.

Dave,

That's pretty neat. I think it's not going to be easy to find these or relatively cheaply anyway. There were a bunch of these on ebay last weekend that went for decent money.

Hi Brad,

Yes I saw those sets and was knocked out of three of them really fast I was hoping to add some BW to my collection but there were too many others trying to get them and they went for really good money. One set of two I was in went for close to 100 when it was all said and done. I guess thats to be expected because they are of very high quality. I wish Frontline would do some of their current line in glossy again.

I'll try to dig those sets out this coming weekend

All the best

Dave

Found a couple more sets, a two piece Colstream Guard set, Scottish Borderers Band and Cameronians. Can't wait to get 'em.

Just received a BW 2. Computer is in the shop (using the office one) so will have to wait to post photos.
