Hi Guys,

I’ve stayed away from the forum for a while on the basis that whenever I do appear I’m sure to attract ‘flak’ from certain members who love nothing more than ‘picking fights’.

However, I cannot and will not allow CS to make wild, unsubstantiated claims about K&C or myself any longer.

For the record, we announced a new Command Car which had already been in the works for many, many months and a new kind of Tiger (I like to tease as much as the next guy).

The Command Car as I’m sure you can see on another post is a ‘Desert’ version. As for the ‘kind of Tiger’… well there are lots of Tigers… some early… some mid… some late productions… there’s also JagdTigers… and King Tigers to choose from. So, why should CS think we’re doing the same Tiger as him?

Another of the wild claims he makes is that somehow, someone is ‘leaking’ his production info to us… Bollocks! Yes, it’s true one of the factories we use is also used by him… it’s also used by East of India… Frontline and several others… so what!? If he’s so paranoid about people leaking his ‘state secrets’ maybe he should find another factory.

Factories in China are very, very protective about all of the clients… I know as much about CS and their plans (present and future) as I do about Frontline and East of India… a big fat nothing! And I hope they know as much about K&C.

Finally, as for CS ‘trying to have fun in this fantastic industry’… Please go ahead… have all the fun you like. Your growth will certainly not be made ‘as painful as possible by K&C’… we’ve got better things to do with our time.

Let battle commence!
Best wishes and… happy collecting!

Andy C.

Hi Andy good to see you posting again.I think the fact that both companies are releasing a Horch is a good thing. As i don't collect LAH i wouldn't be getting the CS version, but for those who do its good for them.I am however an AK collector so your version is right up my street so to speak,as someone said earlier it will look very good along side the Greif. As for the Tiger, its possibly the most popular Tank in the collecting world so theres always bound to be lots of them out there. As was said a while back this is a golden age for collectors and we are spoilt for choice,so the more the merrier i say.I am very much looking forward to your next Big cat, hoping maybe King or Jagdtiger...but i'm guessing your giving us no more clues!.Cheers mate and keep up the good work.

I too have spent awhile away from this forum.I still think it is good to get away for a good brake and now I am back with a fresh start. It seems to me that this forum can get ugly and alittle boring at times and alittle picky.Andy has stayed away because of some members having a go at him and he must get the ****s.I am one of these members I must say without Andy's imput it is not what it used to be.How many of you guys like Andy's imput as I have been reading over the last 4-5 months he hasn't been online it's not the same.If all you members ask him to come back maybe just maybe he will return. The product he makes is out standing and yes we whinge and ***** about everything he does but we still buy it.The tall poppie is always a target in Australia and us convicts will always call a spade a spade. We have to learn that the rest of the world aren't made of the best stuff England rejected .P.S the donkey is looking really fine these days.

Here's another shock folks  I have had some 'discussions' with CS regarding another matter, and consequently I would tend to believe the K & C version of this episode.

I think this whole kerrfufle has gone beyound trading insults
for anyone who has seen the Will Farrell movie Anchorman [the legend of ron bergundy ] just substitute the news teams with the various waring factions
here and we might finnaly put an end to this

When I first joined the forum it was very pro K and C , but at this
point imo the pendelum has now swung to far the other way.
Their seems to be so many agendas and long running fisticuffs
going on its become almost impossible to get impartial reviews by
collectors of products here [with a few exceptions].
For me that was one of the big plusses about reading the forum ,I never
would have bought K and C or Figarti without reading others opinions here.
To be honest If I was Andy i,d give the forum a wide bearth.

I'm a bit confused here guys

I have NOT seen (so far) any posts on this thread that have been ANTI K & C, including MINE.

That's good, for a while there I thought I was in some Bizarro forum thread :D

I don't think this is a comment about your posts, Oz. I think you give credit where credit is due, and your criticism is generally an attempt to foster improvements in the products. Some people may not get your sense of humor, but I have often thought that you, or Harry the Heid (whose humor is also sometimes misinterpreted), are some of the most fun and interesting folks on the forum.

There is, however, one individual on this forum who has issues with K&C and anyone, myself included, who is friendly with Andy. You don't know how many times I have had to bite my tongue rather than get embroiled in the unpleasantness (particularly since some of his posts are aimed directly at me, and appear to be suggesting that I am some sort of K&C plant or Andy's stooge).

As I have often pointed out, it is very easy for a person making comments over the internet to go a bit over the line, perhaps without realizing it, since when someone types something, it loses the tone of voice and facial expressions that show the intent to be humerous rather than insulting. I hope that one of these days I meet this individual at a show, and we can talk face to face. I suspect that a conversation had over scotches could take the edge off of the "conflict".

Well said, Simpson! And I for one am glad that you are back, I missed your insights, mate.

Personally I think everyone is just too terrified to actually voice an opinion on this forum anymore.

For me K&C are still number one, even though through this forum I have started buying Figarti, CS and HB (and the rest). Like most people on this forum I use it for information and news on releases and some of the historiical debates which I find quite interesting. Hopefully, I can give something back every now and them.

If I don't like a product I don't buy it, I don't complain and say this and that. I do get annoyed with certain individuals as I believe they say things for their own benefit. CS I will buy their Tiger but not the LAH stuff, the K&C Hitler staff car I also won't buy for the same reason but the K&C desert Command car probably. I think at present we have a lot of good quality models out there from a number of different companies. It would be a shame if we lost anyone of the regular contributors such as Andy and others.

What is a peanut butter and jello - I had one recently in Washington (it was bought for me) and yuck..........

Rgds

Generally there are two groups on this forum. It used to be the K and C rah rah club which did not tolerate dissent now it is the We Hate K and C group that don't tolerate dissent. Some pretty strong langauge has been used by some to describe K and C products on this forum. I have collected toy soldiers for many years and I hope to continue for many years doing so. I have a reasonable sense of what I like and a working knowledge of histoirical accuarcy. I don't need a bunch of self appointed fashionistas telling me what I should and should not collect at every drop of a hat. I realize that everyone has an opinion but as dirty Harry said opinions are like ........... everyone's got one. It would be nice if we all simply accepted that this is a forum with diverse tastes and leave it at that. Maybe a separate historical accuracy thread would be a good thing. I mean tomorrow we get dispatches, maybe or maybe not there is a Tiger or French artillery piece so what. Must K and C play possum so some one else can get in on the act. At the moment the forum is dead as no-one dares post anything anymore for fear of falling foul of one of the two interest groups.
