Couldn't agree more about the Big Red 1 figs.So am i guessing that they didn't land on D Day itself but shortly after?

Rob

The Big Red One were in the second wave on D-Day itself (June 6) (they were experienced, and it was decided to sacrifice the unblooded 29th Infantry in the first wave).

I am really impressed with the new WWII releases, especially the GI Tank crew and the halftrack 88. Gordon tipped me off to the 88 back in the summer of 2007 (it was supposed to be released simultaneously with the Arnhem first release) but swore me to secrecy. I am glad it finally made it into production. There was another secret German vehicle Gordon mentioned to me as to be released simultaneously with the Arnhem first release that still hasn't made its appearance, but I am hopefull I won't have to bite my tongue about that one much longer.

Thank you Louis,so they can be used in a Normandy beach scenario then.My Germans may have heavy armour advantage but are going to be so outnumbered in men on the ground. Now about that other vehicle Louis?;):D

WOW and double WOW!

Gotta have the tankers! Thank you to Andy and Gordon - I have been wanting extra tankers for some time. I like the mechanic - a very nice touch.

The poses on the "Big Red One" guys have fantastic poses and animation. Great additions to the line. The uniforms and equipment can work from DDay to the winter (and for some poor guys, even into the winter!), PLUS they can be used for Italy and many can be used for North Africa/Sicily. Very nice sets indeed.

I'll comment on the new Sherman in a seperate post - general opinion - very good item!

...I guess no Horch for now. Bummer. I was all psyched up for that.

Brad-

See the good side of it: no Horch + no WWII retirements = money for the Hurricane without sellet the Hellcat :)

Pierre.

I can see a dio of a Sherman to the side of the road being worked on by the mechanic, whilst his crew talk to my MP on his motorbike.Meanwhile another Sherman and the D Day jeep drive past .Throw in Jeep Ambulance and maybe the Hellcat and its a traffic Jam in the Bocage!

Just wondering as regards the 88 , Will this one run out fast with only 750 planned production? Did the Tunisian Tiger sell out at 1250 or is it still available?

Tunisian Tiger is not available anymore directly from K&C and a small dealer (almost unknown) here in Canada has already sold 24 of his 25 Tigers allowance.

My advice: act fast.

Hope it helps.

Pierre.

And lets face it,any 88 is always popular.

Rob

Been hoping for some Big Red One! Plus, no retirements in my interests (that I don't already have)! Good month! :)

These are really fantastic releases. I really like some of the Big Red One releases and Andy seems to have taken the facial sculpting up a notch. Perhaps a different sculptor? It's hard to see how he can improve much more in the facial detail.

And there seem to be lots of different poses too.I often find (an example being Arnhem/latest Bulge figues)that these figures look good in pics but when you see them up close they are fantastic. Can't wait for The Big Red One.:)

Jeff,

This set is fantastic and will be a great addition to my collection. As I said in an earlier post, Andy told me that new facades are planned for this year. I am awaiting for them impatiently.

Regards,
Pierre.

My guess on the 750 88's is that if it sells well we could see a repainted version at some point. That's what happened with the King Tiger and maybe one other if I recall. I still see the Tunisian Tiger in dealer shops - so I wouldn't panic on that one.
