Yo Troopers, got to get my Sabre in here with Ken Ericka & Richard. Just reading Re WW11, there is so much WW11 on this site I have to put my Tin Helmet on when I log in. WHAT ABOUT THE CAVALRY, Did mail Richard about the lack of it on the market, but doesn't seem interested. Old Britains never made half of the Famous British Cavalry Regiments, they flogged to death, the Life Guards, Horse Guards, and you are still at it with the 17th Lancers. It wasn't until the 1990s that Britains came out with such famous Regiments as the 8th Hussars, then had to wait until 2000, before you Thought of doing, the 14th, 15th, 20th, & 21st Hussars and that was in the Hamleys ltd Edition of only 1,000 sets, and still the year 2008 nobody has bothered to do the other regiments ie, 4th Royals Irish Dragoons, 18th & 19th Hussars, ALSO more important you try and buy a set of the 3rd Kings Hussars (my old Regiment) your looking at £300.00. A set of 6th Inniskilling was listed this morning £380.00. If you cannot see the gap in the market for cavalry something wrong somewhere. Every cavalry regiment listed on ebay you have to fight for with the big bucks, so whats wrong in going back and doing box sets of four which is about right to represent a regiment, as for singles cannot be bothered with them, and surley we dont have to have plastic bits on them (cheapo). Ltd Editions of say 2 or 3,000 would be good. So mount up Britains and lets have some decent cavalry for a change. (Hope you didn't get to many Sabre cuts)

Forgot to mention, can we have the horses free standing, just think how much money you would save in metal, paint & time not having to make the plates.

I would like to point out that W. Britain has been around for some time now. I would say a bit longer than most of the other great companys that we chat about on this site. With that stated...I must tell you that every time we meet to discuss what to make for the next few catalogs we edit out more subjects than we develop. Some of our favorite subjects haven't made the product line up yet either...in traditioanl gloss, new style gloss, die cast, bands, matt style or plastic. As you can see there are always tough choices as far as the allocation of time and resources.
At the end of our meetings we always consider that there will be many more catalogs to come, and that the history of the world and all of the various players will probably get their time sooner or later. We note requests, ask for feedback, meet with retailers and chat with customers at shows in addition to our own thoughts on what to bring to market and when. Always feel free to make suggestions to keep specific suggestions fresh and in this format, generate support for your interests!

It must be difficult to decide what to do next Ken as I am sure there will always besomeone left out waiting for a piece for their collection. Thankfully I have a quite few years of collecting left in me

But I would like a couple of proper Household cavalry drum horses please, after you have whipped up Bernards 3rd Kings Hussars of course

Hi Simon!
When we chat here we often refer to the old style gloss as a different sculpting look than what we have been doing for the last three years for Redcoats/Bluecoats/Petticoats. The old style would be like the hollowcast or even the later 50s and 60s figures. As you know we have done a few sets like that in the last few years, so we have to keep our wires untangled here when we are brainstorming. The lion's share of the new gloss products are in the style that we would like to think W. Britain might have made if they had the ability to 100 years ago.
