Pictures of this tank have not exactly sparked my interest.......Has anyone seen this item or received it......I would like your feedback both pro and cons.....concerning this tank how does it compare to the last sherman K/C most recently retired.........Thank you for your responses..... As I indicated on the "Classic Sherman" thread, I received mine yesterday, and I thought it was on a par, quality wise, with the Honour Bound Sherman (I placed the two side by side). It is also pretty much exactly the same size, so the scale is correct 1:30.

This tank is interesting not only for what it IS, but also for what it CAN BE. This is a 1942 production type. It could be repainted for British use, for the Mediterranean area (Sicily, Italy and southern France) or used for the Pacific. LOTS of possibilities with this guy.

Mine is sitting on my desk, and it's a great piece. I like the idea of having the stowage separate from the tank making it more versatile. I also like the fact that it has plenty of detail without being overly engineered, which means you can expect it to be in one piece when you open the box.. I wish another company that's name begins with an "F" would adopt this marking strategy. This company beginning in "F" makes some of the nicest figures on the market today, and made a nice "V" something rocket. But every time I open one of their overly engineered vehicles they're in pieces

While the suspension is a bit early, the basic tank is similar to Army M4A1 tanks that fought on Bouganville, New Guinea and other campaigns. The Marines borowed Army M4A1s for Cape Gloucester and Army and Marine units operated on Saipan, the Phillipines and others.
So, easy answer is "Yes".

Sorry, but no. ALL the Lend-Lease Shermans to Russia were diesel-powered M4A2's. K&C hasn't done one (YET!).

As stated earlier the Marines used a batch of Army M4A1s, but the most common tanks were the M4A2s. These diesel-powered tanks were taken from Lend-Lease batches and transferred to the Marines. Later most M4A2s were replaced with late-type M4A3s.
Maybe Andy will make an M4A3 75(W) for the BoB series (They were common there) and one could repaint it for a late USMC tank.

Saw this in the shop, didn't exactly want to get my wallet out.. As for a repaint, well I wouldn't want to go near it with any paint after spending that kind of cash on it..!

I did not order this item......as I expressed in the begining of this thread I was not impressed by the pictures of this sherman......I believe the green Honour Bound version was better (sorry Andy).... a more interesting allied tank eg. a Cromwell maybe would have been better.......As for the Tiger; It is my hope that Andy will release a "winter version" of this tank soon.....as I personally was very satisfied with the K/C Tunsian Tiger recently released;which leaves nothing lacking "at all" vs. the Honour Bound gold tiger........The K/C desert Panzer IV is IMO the best WWII Tank by anyone to date.......so anyway.... I hope to see a K/C Tiger in field grey or winter version soon.......regards to all Vezzolf

There have been a few comments about this particular sherman, buy it or not, repaint or not, etc.; but, one thing I must say (I feel almost driven to say this) - We piled on K&C about their tracks a couple of years ago. This model is a wonderful example of K&C' improved sculpting. Very well done. Thanks for listening Mr. Neilson.
At some point, before they are retired, I think I shall have to get a few for repaints (8th Army, etc.). And this from a guy who recently said "no more shermans or tigers."Oh well, go figure. Nice model and one that I am glad I purchased.
