Quick answers to a few questions that are out there ...

Yes, Mrs. Phillips had a wonderful time - I worked for four days - she looked at ART undisturbed. Then we had Four more days together walking, walking, walking around Paris.

Yes, I had crapes at the Eiffle Tower !

Yes, I drank Champagne on the banks of the Seine River !

Yes, I HAD LOTS OF RED WINE ! :D

Yes, I Went To Toy Soldiers of Paris !! ;)

Photos are coming soon - Glad to be home. :)

Welcome back Ron,

You must have had a great time by the sounds of it. Did you celebrate the anniversary of Waterloo while you were there?

DAY ONE

:D :D

We got in on Sunday morning and I was ready to go - wanted to start off with the ACR de TRIOMPHE !

In 1806, just after the Battle of Austerlitz, Napoleon declared to his soldiers, "you will march home through arches of victory." The construction of the Arc was from 1806 to 1836.

It was a great landmark to start our visit !

Wow take me with you. How were the prices at the shop? How was the food? Where did you stay. Where the Parisians nice? Do either of you parlevous?

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the great photos. The shop looks fantastic, unmissable really, so does Paris! Also looks like you had loads of fun. I especially like the trees joke, probably the French wouldn't like it that much but your answer provided the final say:D.

Cheers,
Paulo

Here is a little ARC de TRIOMPHE history !!

Germans Marching in and Americans Marching back out ;)

Great shots, makes me envious indeed. But no drinks for the Brits, Prussians, Russians, Austrians, Spaniards, Bavarians etc, etc.?:D

Really cool pictures Ron. It looks like you guys had an excellent trip. Now you have to fill us in on your TS purchases. :D

Here are a few pics from a cafe on the Champs-Elysees, Le Petit Palais and the Place de la Concord - where an Egyptian Obelisk / a Napoleon Egyptian Campaign Trophy is placed where the "guillotine" was placed during the French Revolution !

Nice shots, Ron! Looks like you and your lovely wife had a wonderful trip! I haven't been to Paris for 9 years . . . I really can't wait until my little ones are old enough for air travel!

DAY TWO !!

:D :D :D

The Second Day was a busy day for me at the EUROSATORY / Paris Land Show - I spent my entire day working the Military Show with the KMW guys. I got back to hotel and took Mrs. Phillips out for dinner at 10:00 PM - which was close to sunset  It stays daylight in Paris until about 10:20 PM each night (during this time of the year).

This was the Pont des Arts - the bridge which is close to the Louvre and Art School of France - it was built in 1804 - made of Steel and Wood Planks - was also featured in the last few episodes of Sex and the City ;)

It is a real social place with all the students who meet and picnic there almost every night - a very cool place

Very few purchases - just Joan of Arc. The exchange rate kills you over there and to be honest - I can buy all these figures at home for MUCH LESS ! ;)

I really feel for our European Friends that EURO is pricey.

Ron
