I'm considering buying the GMC Jimmy Truck on ebay, however I thought I remember reading something about easy breakage on this vehicle. Does anyone have any more info on this issue? Also, being kind of an older item, does anyone that has it think it looks up-to-date enough to go well with the new DD vehicles or does it clearly look like the "old stuff"?

Thanks

I really like this and I think it's worth buying. I think it looks really good with the new stuff and it actually might be nice if K & C someday made a new one.

Some of the arches (I don't know the proper technical name, sorry) that go across the top can easily break or get bent. I sold one for a friend a long time ago that had this problem but got another one that was in perfect shape.

I have had one since it first came out (wife bought it for me) and I think it

is a great model. I will post a couple of pictures of is shortly along side a

BBA016 which arrived today.

I think it would be a nice addition to your collection.

Kurt,
I have 4 remaining of the original 12 I purchased. As you can tell by the numbers, I love this truck. There is a small problem with the ribs for the canvas cover on the cargo compartment breaking. The ones that broke on mine broke evenly on the seam at the point where they join the back of the cargo compartment sides. This is easily resolved with super glue and careful handling. Or, you can leave them off. Not all the trucks used the ribs.

As far as looking like the new vs the old stuff, it is most definately new looking and is a great model. Not like the first issue (DD07) that looked like someone carved it from a block of soap. Ugly model, very ugly. I sold mine the day I got the newer model.

Contact Mark at Build-a-rama and he can make a custom canvas cover for you.

Here are a few photos for you to consider.

I got it from toysoldiergallery.com and one of the bits that stretches across the top of the truck was broke, but that was just down to the connections to the actual body of the truck being week, besides superglue fixed it easily:D:D:D:D:D:cool::eek:

I just need to get the truck passenegrs now:D:eek::D

If you're talking about DD39, Jimmy Trunk. Then the driver on my truck is removable. In fact many times I'll switch drivers from the KC Jimmy Truck with the driver from the KC Weapons Carrier.

Oops Carlos is correct, my error.

Mine has sat in a showcase so long I thought the driver was fixed in place.

I guess that shows how much I know!

Nice pictures of these vehicles. I hope they come out with another model. Leadmen
