Hi Guys,

Just got back from Bangkok yesterday and thought I’d catch up with a little Forum ‘paper work’…

1. How about some K&C glossies?
Don’t think so my friends… I’ve got more than enough ‘matties’ to keep me busy in this life… and the next.

2. How old is Andy?
Old Andy is fine Thank you JPB… How old is you?

3. When is he going to retire?
When I ‘pop my clogs’ that’s when. No, but seriously… retirement is for people who don’t enjoy their work… and I love mine! I am one of the luckiest guys in the world… to turn your favourite hobby into a business… and make money too!!! So, the short and sweet answer to that is… no time soon.

4. Honour Bound
I too was sorry to see the end of their tank production as they produced darn fine product… I also have a couple of their models in the K&C collection. I love their new figures though and look forward to seeing more. Their vehicles though were first class and helped a lot of us (Figarti and K&C to name but two) push the envelope a good bit further. Good luck in the future.

And that, as they say, is that…
Best wishes and happy collecting!

Andy C.

Best news I've heard all year; my mortgage company and my girlfriend both say many, MANY thanks to that Andy.

Chicago is a month out, looking forward as always to seeing you and Gordon as well as what Gordon is up to lately, I am sure it will be stunning as usual. Can't wait to see what the Fall has in store for K & C, one of the main reasons to attend OTSN IMO..........

Ah Andy........how about a few pictures of:

1. Your personal collection:D:D

2. King & Countrys collection:D

You know we all love the photos, and would be most interested in what

you enjoy looking at when you kick back and relax!

I think its great for this hobby that Andy freely express feeling sorry for the cessation of HB's Gold Edition vehicles, and admitting owning some HB pieces.

it makes me feel like this hobby is run for collectors, and by collectors, and the manufacturers vying like a big friendly sibling rivalry. (for the case between K&C and CS, they are like 2 distant cousins :) )

I wont hide my disappointment at HB's end of its excellent vehicle.

However, with the recent releases by K&C in its SDK250, Figarti in the Panzer IV, and CS in the Marder, i am heartened that there will be somebody to keep on producing high quality vehicles at the correct scale.

I agree with Nasir here, that 250 is sweet.

Good to hear Andy is in fine health and no plans to retire. The day Andy gives up his job my credit card company will think something awful has happened to me!!;)

Thanks God he wont be doing glossies! They are awful looking!

I'm sure you didn't mean to offend anyone but there are many, many glossy collectors on this Forum (not to mention the hobby) and it's too fine to say it's not your thing but to say they're awful is a bit strong. No offense meant to be given so I hope no offense taken :)

Glossy collectors like me:D. To call Imperial, Beau Geste or the New Britains figures awful is just something I can't compute:D:D:D. To me they are things of beauty. But I can also appreciate good matte figures;). No offense taken.

hello daruss, there is not many things sweeter than some nice trophy gloss figures you should look them up. as for andy not retiring thats great news. when you meet him you can still see the twinkle in his eye when he talks toy soldiers and you can see his wheels turning. hopefully andy stays fit so he can be aroud another 20 yrs

Hi Andy,

thanks for the answers.

This gives me confidance that KC will be around for at least 10 more years.

Love your work and keep the goodies coming.

JPB

I would probably like glossy but the figures would have to be very detail. Not like the ones from the early 90's to mid 80's.
