Yo Trooper this is the latest addition to my Cavalry collection, The Dennis Britain Centenary RHA Gun & Limber set. Not strictly Cavalry but always included when the Cavalry Regiments are listed, they are also included in the Carman/Simkin Cavalry Regiments book. To be honest I never knew this set was made until it came on ebay, and if you have Joe Wallis book its well shown on the Back cover as set # 39 from the 1950s but of course comes at a high price in auction. Must add was never really bothered about getting this set even though they wore Hussar uniforms, until I saw the set Jeff (ajju65) painted, shown in his albums. I was so impressed that it had to go on the must have list. Will post a better photo when the set arrives.
Bernard. :D:D

It's a very nice set -- similar to vintage Britains set 39 -- but this one doesn't have the offficer and 4 outriders.

Yo Dick one word SUPERB, have you got this yourself Dick, I know most of your sets, some of them are awesome. I am working on the outriders with Jeffs (ajju65) help have sorted the outriders to match my set, just looking for an officer to fit the part, will have to be one of the Old Sets Hussars officer on a rearing horse. Thanks for the heads up on the Drum Horse I am on it, just as if the guys couldn't have guessed who was the bidder lol.

Forgot to add Dick set# 39 is on ebay at the moment, but he has Four 11th Hussars instead of the outriders, two of them have broken carbines, and the box is in a mess, it was $400 last week relisted yesterday at $350, dont think its worth the money as it is, more like $200 is my estimate.

Great set there Bernard (and Dick)

If you don't win the drumhorse, you can try Ducal as they have one and guess what ??? NO PLATE LOL :D

Yo, Bernard, is that correct, the RHA aren't considered cavalry? That's interesting to me, considering the origins of horse artillery. They were originally intended to accompany cavalry units, to give them some extra punch. Frederick the Great, for example, would send out patrols of hussars, followed by a detachment of grenadiers, and accompanied by a battery of horse artillery (which they originally called "flying artillery", because of its speed). The tactic caused the Austrians much consternation.

The set is a nice one, I agree with you.

Prost!

Bernard -- yes -- the boxed set is mine. It's still originally tied in, and I dont have the heart to cut the string and take the figures out of the box to display them -- even though I would like too.

Dick
