I mainly collect Little Legion Toy Soldiers from the Zulu War.

I also have a few other items related to the Zulu War.

1. Two campaign medals
2. 3 Martini Henry Rifles
3. Numerous books
4. An original movie which I had matted and framed and few other related movie items.

I collect reference books, and other materials that could be used as references. For example, I have a postcards of uniforms and Imperial German flags; cartes de visite; tobacco cards; some medals (some real, others are copies); an Imperial German hussar's Attila; and a reservist's stein from a Bavarian airship unit from 1901.

Some would say I also collect model kits and figures  but I dismiss that charge :D

Prost!

I mainly collect F&I War. Have a rather large collection of books. I also collect longrifles, muskets, tomahawks, knives, hunting bags, etc and other items of the era..... most are reproductions, but made with the same materials and same way they were made back in the 1750's....

That's the next step from collecting toy soldiers-re-enacting. I've been thinking about making the jump to 1:1 scale for Revolutionary War, but it's expensive to assemble the kit.

My interest is Victorian British thru early ww1. I have accumulated the usual swords, helmets, caps , medals , cap badges and of course books. Of the memorabilia it is a mixture of real and replica

Hi Guys,

Being a retired Tanker I collect the insignia from Armor Branches around the world. I also collect the Cavalry insignia for the US Cavalry going back to the ACW and I have a set of Dragoon Insignia too. I also have some vintage weapons that are Cavalry related. I also enjoy the art work of Keith Rocco Don Stivers and Dale Gallon. Keith Rocco is my favorite due to the Napoleonics that I favor over the ACW. Anyone else collect things that compliment the Toy Soldiers?

All the best

Dave

I collect armour, weapons, books and other figures related to the Templars and the crusades! :)

I collect military reference books from various wars as well as Cavalry items from different periods.

I collect ACW relics, reproduction firearms, prints and, books. The past year or so has my primary focus on toy soldiers though.

In addition to my toy soldiers, I have firearms and equipment from the various periods I collect, and a lot of books.

Toys from the 1950's-1960's, condition is most important to me.....I like to find items that have survived somehow in like new condition and dust them off, and give them a good home.:)

I don't really collect anything other than the toy soldiers themselves. Having said that, my wife has, from time to time, found some prints which I have framed and this summer she got these well over 100 year old magazines for me. She found them at a collective garage sale. See the covers below.

Sorry about the close up with the date. It's unclear. It reads (in French) Sunday, December 30th, 1894. The small photo is a symptom of an amateur with Photo Bucket.

I have always collected military related objects. Had at one point many WW1 related weapons, bayonets, some helmets. All gone now. Also I collected military history books. At height of collection there were over 2000 books in my library. This counts hardcovers only as I had several hundred softcovers I never inventoried. Specialized in WW1 but had books on many wars. Most of these are gone now, too. Room and finances got in the way. -- lancer

Its look like the French soldiers related to the 1870 French X Prussian War. But the year doesn't match....it this African colonial war?

The uniforms are standard for the French at that period, the dark blue with red trousers was worn right through to 1916 when it was replaced by horizon blue. The troops in action most likely reflect the autumn manoevres and not any particular war.

You are right Trooper. These French army cyclists are on manoeuvres.
