Complaint, Complaint and MORE Disapointments (1 Viewer)

John has really put my collecting habits into a proper perspective.
I never dreamed of how lucky I was not to be in Stalag 17 or the Hanoi Hilton, or for that matter still haveing my head on my shoulders!
After reading John,s post, I vow I will let my wife quit her job as an asphalt roofer in the summer, and river barge hand in the winter, to put bread on the table so I can spend money on soldiers.
I think Obama could use a deep thinker like John to get this economy on track!

Ron,
If you reread his initial post, he's not just complaining about K & C, it's also HB, CS and Figarti, he's not happy with any of their releases in 2008.

Just out of curiosity, if this hobby is a secondary hobby for you John, what is your primary hobby.

I know I'm going to regret asking that question.

Historically John is not a happy camper. Even if K&C released the entire Afrika Korps from April 22, 1941, man-for-man, he would complain that the guy who was on furlough in Germany on that date was left out.

I'm rather glad that the WW2 releases are at a "controlled" rate as I can't seem to get that winning lottery ticket that would allow me to buy them all in one swoop.

You know, people ask me all the time what do I get out of belonging to this toy soldier forum as I must get sick of talking about toy soldiers 24/7/365.

For future reference, I will point to this absolute jem, LOL till I nearly fell of the chair post. THE most hysterical thing I have ever read on this forum or any other.

Ever.

Gary my man, if you decide to attend OTSN this year, the first round is on me. And the second, third, fourth, etc, etc..............

Priceless, thank you sir.

"Correction has been made. ;)

What do we do with the body ??"

John asked for a 21 gun salute and Ron said 3 will be sufficient......:p

J G What do you collect besides the toy soldiers? I will agree with you about the higher prices. Though I believe there are some releases that are worth getting. Maybe they will bring back hollowcasts.

I think as far as figures go they need to make mostly one or two figure sets. When the three set figures were in the $60 range a couple of years ago that was affordable but most are now in the $80-$90 range that hurts. Then you throw in vehicles, scenics, buildings, watercraft it just becomes unaffordable.I like to put trees in my setups and JG Min.and Build-A-Rama have some great trees but they want $20-$60 for just one tree! The main thing is if you can't all the things you want for a nice setup, then why bother even getting into a range. As for myself I'm going to try to make my own scenics but even that way can be expensive.

Just thought I would share this website: timberlinescenery.com They make trees and other diorama products. I saw them at a show in November and just recently got some. Nice product and very reasonable.

John,

maybe you can take this hobby to destress.

Hello! :) My Statement , was NOT saying that K&C, HB,CS, and Figarti, Company, hasn't made Quality Toys for last Year 2008! But, to the Guy's who Complaint , that they're didn't get the Toys, what they Expected! Saying , "Quote", that This Year 2009 will be a Very hopefully , GREAT Year for our Expectations, from MOST of the Toy Companies! Just like Saying , I didn't like my Christmas Present's,and I didn't get what I Really Expected, maybe a Fine Cigar, or a Hot Tub, or a Great Massage? "Capice" "Are you Talkin to Me" OOH!:D

well John,

i finally got thru your unique command of the English language, and grasp what you're trying to say.

John, an important prerequisite before have passing a comment at someone (however deserved or otherwise), is to have a good command of the language and an ability to construct understandable sentences.

If not, it will backfire and you will receive the flak yourself.
