Yo Troopers, have you had a look at the ATS site there are some really superb items to be had in either Gloss or Matt which ever you prefer. The Crimean range is very unusual, they have done many personalities never made before. Its well worth a visit also have lots of Naps.

Pricey but lovely. I especially like the return form the charge figures

Yo Trooper, yes maybe, but just looked at their Gallery on whats on offer to buy, and to be honest totally stunnned. There are so many items and not having Broadband over here could not down load them all, could only download about 260 items, and my connection gave up lol. But there must be every subject covered on the site Minus Tanks, and the choice of Matt or Gloss, got to be one of the best display of Toy Soldiers for sale I have seen so far. A big plus the painting is excellent.

And, all of the cavalry figures have bases!!!!!!!!!!!

Yo Dick, they will do them without if you ask.
Bernard.

sounds like you have your order in? Let us know when you get them, there are a couple in their catalog that really temp me....................

Bernard.

If they will eliminate the base if you ask them - and the figures stand up correctly and do not tip -- then why do they have bases at all? Are the figures a little unsteady?

Dick

Bernard -- when you get your order -- please post some photos and if possible, post a photo with a Britains figure in it for comparison purposes. Thanks,

Dick

I have collected ATS Napoleonics in gloss finish for about seven or eight years.
I probably have about 500 figures including infantry, cavalry and artillery.
The quality and sculpting are excellent. They will do custom painting and poses at no extra charge. You can put together a firing line, attacking column or several artillery sets with all different poses.
Prompt service and good packaging for overseas shipments.
Unfortunately with the dollar weak against the pound and shipping costs going up they are a little pricey. Still should come in cheaper than K&C.
They go well with Little Legion and Trophy. Much smaller than K&C and a little out of scale with Britains.
Hope this helps prospective collectors.

Now I just have to wait for the dollar to strengthen as if that is likely to happen in my lifetime..............................

Some more news for you, Bernard, ATS have now added the Heavy Brigade to their Crimean range, all regiments plus personalities. Take a look on www.ats-uk.net Apparently they give a substancial discount to anyone who orders either brigade in their entirety, man for man!!

I love their Nap range, especially the cavalry figures. When it comes to Nap gloss, my strategy is basically: infantry Little Legion, cavalry, Alexanders. Go figure... Imperial's naps look stunning but a little out of reach for me to collect from Europe ( read customs taxes plus shipping based on not cheap but acceptable for the quality prices ).

It is good to see traditional cottage industry type operations are still thriving and being innovative. I am a Little Legion fan. One query though. If you do order from ATS does he have stock in hand or must he make it up for you. This is usually how small traditionla companies operate. So it means you oftne have to wait a long time to get your order.

ATS usually have stock in hand, inevitably with such a large an d varied range some items may not be in stock but turn around is very fast.

ATS Crimean War Charge figure are on the cover of the latest Toy Soldier Collector. There is also an excellent article inside the magazine. These figures are very very nice.................................................

Nik will have them all at the London show on Saturday along with the new Heavy Brigade figures plus a load of new Napoleonics.

For all you FIW fans out there, check out this new set pictured on ATS website......

Cheers,
MD

Ah Mr. Dave,I can't decide whether you're more a saint or scoundrel for sharing this...I've admired ATS boats previously but felt I could resist unless they strayed into my focus. This set looks superb,so Thank you...I guess:D
