I wanted to speak to you about my last mishaps , I bought ACW riders to 2 distinct dealers, and figures come damaged in the boxes: sword and sleeve twisted or broken , horse's tail broken.

Postal parcel was nor scratched neither smashed , and Collector's Showcase box either. Thus, I think the figures were introduced brutally into the box in the manufacturer .

Did you live similar nuisance?

Dommage! Das ist ein richtiger Anschiss!

Maybe they'll see your post and offer to replace the figures for you.

Those are some painful pictures. Luckily all of my CS figures and vehicles have always arrived in perfect condition. Probably the only manufacturer I can say that about.

Thats bad news,i hope CS will replace them for you.

Oh those were a disaster, we ended up double packing those cavalry peices from the factory, as the original packing was the very worst.

While the cavalry was great it was an example of how working with a " toy broker " ( which we had to do when we started as we knew no manufacturers in China ) can be a mess.

These pieces, as you have already noticed, were packed in " eggshell foam ", not die cut sponge ( as we use now ). They moved around and generally were destroyed in shipment, if not re-packed. But we figured out a way to add extra foam on both side and box tightly. Yours I suspect were not " double foamed ".

Solution: send them back to us and we'll replace them with anything of equal value ( they are all sold out now ) for free.

very best regards,

Brian

Thanx for your proposal Brian , but I returned this morning these figurines to the seller and he refunded me at once, including my return postal fees .

After an examination of interior of these boxes, I believe that there is too much of this insulating foam, by closing the lid the packer must force, and that twists the figure inside.

When the box is open, the foam exceed few millimetres in top. I compared with W.BRITAIN and K& C boxes , foam do'nt exceed. To my opinion, from there comes the problem .

( they are all sold out now )
Will you make other ACW cavalrymen ?

Agreed! Thats why we no longer use that method.

I like getting broken stuff. I save money and most of my repairs are pretty good. Mostly though I like saving money.

I hate broken swords and broken spears.

Even after you fix them, you never feel good about them.

Anybody got any tricks on broken swords?

Yeah cut off all of the swordblade that remains. Get a pin vise drill a hole in the hilt. Then take an apropriate size piece of wire and flaten it. Once it is flat put it in the hole and superglue it. Then paint. Better than new.

If I may add, same for the broken tails, as in the picture. The one looks like it has a plug to fit into a hole in the casting (not that hole! ;) ), so a dab of CA glue should fix it. And KV's technique can be applied to the other broken tail, which appears to have snapped off.

If you've never tried repairs, I recommend it, it can be your first step into becoming a modeler/painter.

Prost!

Unfortunately , problem always exists : receive this morning CS00409 and 00388 , both guns and sword are twisted ... now I have to try to rectify while hoping not to break them ...

Let us know if there are problems, we'll rush along replacements. The more realistic you try to make things the more delicate they become.

On our next run we're going with stronger metal on all swords and guns.

Hope you enjoy the Chasseur, they're going the way of the Lancers: I think they'll be sold out in about a month, pretty incredible.

Best regards,

Brian

Yes I enjoy the Chasseur de La Garde , as far as I appreciated the Lancers ; pistols are now rectified , but as envisaged, sword broke... however always precaution to heat a few seconds with flame of a lighter, then to rectify very very slowly with wet fingers

Do my best to restore the poor animals, but the result is hardly convincing about the Chasseur's sword...
