Iraq House Build (1 Viewer)

I really appreciate the photos.

That totally clears it up.

Your work is friggin' brilliant.

Such detail, you've got a career in front of you if you ever want one.

Really appreciate the "step by step".

Thanks Simon,

Michael

Simon,
Nice work! I've been in, around, and on top of many buildings in Iraq that looked like this. Great research and good eye for detail!
Semper Fi!
Rick

I don't think you could ask for a better compliment than that. WAY TO GO!!

BTW- I think the troops need to spend a bit more time on the range- too many bulletholes in the building and not enough in the terrorists!! :D:p

You know, that's exactly what I thought when Rick posted. I have to say I was even a little anxious about getting it 'about right', so I was thankful for Rick's comments.

As for the target practice, their aim was spot on. The insurgents had been using the outside of this building for abseiling practice, and they were gotten on the way down. ;):D

Thats a frontline wagon from thier zulu sets. I got it at a show from the Hobby Bunker, Matt the owner split the set up for Joe the LT. because he just wanted the figures so I got a good deal on just the wagon without the figures thanks to Joe!
Rod you should do a how to thread on making foam buildings, yours are some of the best I,ve seen on here!

I know Tim, each time I want to do, I realized that is too late the dio is almost done. I will develop a how to do very soon.

Thanks
Regards

Wow, that building is very inspirational. I've loved toy soldiers since I was a kid but I have been out of the hobby for thirty years. And then one day I stumbled across a web thread that led me to the Chicago Toy soldier show and my jaw dropped. Back in the seventies I had Tamiya kit tanks and Airfix troops that I tried to paint but they turned out badly. I didn't know that you had to wash and prime them. I had a lot of fun setting them up in the yard and throwing pebbles at them. It is a real treat to discover that there are so many people out there willing to teach and show what they have accomplished.

BTW Simon- I think I am detecting a possible future architect who specializes in the repair and restoration of war torn middle eastern buildings- gotta believe the pay is better than that which you draw with the force :p:D

After all, probably some good spackle should do the trick on most of those bulletholes right?? LOL

Hmmm. Might think about that. After I've finished patching up all the damage, I could paint everything in nice pastel shades, for an overall calming effect. :p
