I think I just saw a pig fly over my house! Capitolron is collecting Arnhem????? I for one appreciate your humour on this forum. In the spirit of all the money Washington D.C. is handing out I make the following suggestion. The damage you have obviously caused all us collectors and dealers requires financial compensation. I believe everyone on this forum is now entitled to the entire Arnhem series payable by you. Let the punishment fit the crime!

Unfortunately - there are some idiots (in the business ;) ) who probally feel that way.

Ron first placed the "joke" within his post summarizing some of the topics discussed by Andy at the Symposium. Ron is a great supporter of K&C and regularly communicates with Andy, so some collectors assumed this was breaking news. There was no "smiley" face or other indication that the statement was made in jest. Some forum members may know that he likes to kid "arnhem1944mad" about the Arnhem line, but many do not.:(

IT WAS A JOKE ! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Better Now ?

I think this indicates how care should be taken when posting comments attributed to Andy. I would have to agree with Stephen Chong that this "joke" was hard to pick up as it was mentioned in a thread about Andy's comments in NY and blended in well with the other news.
One of my customers in Australia contacted me straight away and was very concerned. It was definitely going to affect his buying plans. I had to read through the whole thread to try to work out what was going on and did conclude it was not true but it was confusing. It depended upon when you read the thread as to how believable it was.
I can understand some dealers being concerned if there were orders being placed because of misleading information. It is possible dealers who ordered extra could have been left sitting on excess stock as customers realised they did not have to buy them all now. Now is probably not the economic climate for dealers to appreciate the joke.
Sorry Ron but if some collectors and dealers did make buying decisions based on your joke I can understand why they would not be amused.
A thought that entered my mind when I first started reading the thread was perhaps you had already stocked up and were trying to manipulate the market ! One of the entries did suggest someone (I can't remember who) had told Andy he would help him boost sales of the Arnhem series. Not a good look.
Some may recall the humourous threads started by Simpson and his Donkey where he claimed Andy had called him personally and mentioned all the Aussie stuff he was going to do plus sci-fi stuff. His jokes were easier to detect.
I note Ron mentioned his comments about some dealer complaints were deleted but he was happy to forward them personally to forum members. Never saw any comments by dealers but I would say dealers were right to complain if buying decisions were being made wrongly. Ron's comment that he would forward his comments personally suggest he can not understand the consequences of his "joke" to a dealer who may have taken or placed orders that would otherwise have not been made.
I think a board of enquiry or court martial is called for and reduction in rank.
Just my thoughts.

Brett

Classic Black psy-ops.
Ron never mentioned he used to be in the special forces. :D

I guess I have a higher expectation of common sense with Toy Soldier Dealers when it comes to business matters. If any dealer makes his sole decision on what is said in this forum - as Mr. T's says: "I Pitty the FOOL !"

And if words here can effect buying habits - you dealers must be almost broke selling K&C ?

I could go on and on about how stupid all this really is - but, I think the Mr. T's statement makes it quite concise.

Ron

For those of you on the forum who believe that my statements about Arnhem - Market Garden - K&C Range is being retired - please let me set the record straight.

The King & Country Range of Arnhem /Market Garden IS NOT BEING RETIRED ! - it was a joke.

Please do not take those comments seriously. Brad has informed me a few of you may have taken my words to be true and not in Jest - so please - for the love of WWII and future development of your collections do not let this small joke refrain you from buying this wonderful range.

Now for big news - YES, Brad is right - I am collecting Market Garden and plan to put a display in my new cabinet at home.   I do love the figures and plan to collect the entire range.

So - if that is happening then it really must be going away and being retired forever - LOL !! :p That was a joke again.

Regards, Ron

Lol, this all started because you were teasing me:p::eek:LMAO:cool:;):D

Not to beat a dead horse, but this hits the nail on the head Ron; if you had put a smiley face there or something to that effect, the reaction would not have been so bad; you put it at the bottom of a thread where you were reporting news from the symposium at the museum.

I had one customer who had placed an order cancel it as he did not want to collect the series if it was being cancelled, I had to let him know it was a "joke" and had several others email and call me torked off that this was their favorite range and how could Andy retire it. I had to take time out of my day to calm everyone down.

Sorry if you view some dealers as idiots too by the way.

No need to respond to this, you came out and said you were sorry, so there you go, all is right in the world of toy soldiers now.

I was j/k that I bought the entire range of Market Garden. I do have the seven retired ones. I didnt fall for your joke Ron.:D

Folks,

It's time to move on. We've all made our statements and there is no reason for this to get out of hand, as it seems to be doing.
