Gentlemen,

I thought I would start my first post with some pictures of my K&C pacific figures. It is a shame this seires did not do well. Maybe after HBO's new series "The Pacific" airs people will become more interested. Comments on how to improve the display are always welcome.

An impressive collection of Pacific War figures. Where did you get the actual soil from so many far flung battlefields? Many of those islands are very difficult and expensive to get to. -- lancer

Great displays - I love the Sand Bottles !! :D - great idea.

I think there may be a tic upward for the K&C Iwo Range after the Hanks Production of PACIFIC - we shall see. K&C has a lot of those figures still out there for retail price. ;)

Welcome to the forum, You have a very nice display of Pacific figures, I too think the sand bottles are very nice to your display.

very nice display, the old and new IWJ ranges go very well together and complement one another ,it's a pity it came to an end..

Welcome! Great stuff, thanks to the kindness of "Panzer" (Rick - a Marine Lt. Colonel) I also display my K&C Pacific figures and vehicles with sand hallowed by the blood of Brave U.S. Marines from Iwo Jima.

Major Dad,
I agree with you. My Marines are displayed very prominently and proudly. I am like you I hope that K&C will make more.

The most important part of your display cannot be bought. It was already paid for.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I served the Marine Corps for 28 years. While stationed in Okinawa I was tasked with conducting sight surveys of islands in the Pacific. I was able to visit a lot of battle sights that are hard to get to.

OUTSTANDING DISPLAY MajorDad!!!!

I too served in the Corps 1972-78, and love the King & Country Marines. I think the japs are good too and they really go well together. I hope Andy does more, as these are definately some of the best figures he has ever done.

I like those bottles, do you have one for Tarawa? I never got to go there, but really wanted to see it. This battle, inch by inch, foot by foot, and yard by yard, was the toughest fight in WWII for sheer savagry!!!.....Stryker II

Really nice set of pieces. I don't collect the Pacific ( $ and space issues ) but I sure appreciate your collection and pictures. I must say seeing the bottles of sand kind of made me sad, especially with the comment about these being "paid for".:( Sometimes I think we toy soldier collectors forget that these military miniatures can be more than toys, they pay tribute to people who have given all for their respective countries. Oh yeah, welcome to the forum!

Welcome Keith:

Don't be a stranger. There is always room for all collectors and especially to those who served and thank you and Stryker II.

Very nice collection and I too lament there doesn’t seem to be a strong a enough demand to sustain a USMC theme in our hobby. I’ve resorted to getting a G.I.’s and vehicles repainted.

My father served in the USMC from 1946-1950 and was lucky enough to be between both conflicts but I've always admired his service in the Marines and have been attracted to them ever since.

You might want to check out some of the FIGARTI LVT’s. They’re excellent construction, real model quality and the same size as that King and Country LVT you’re displaying despite the differences in the stated scales (1:30 compared to Figarti’s 1:32); welcome to the confusing world
of scale.

Check out Treefrog’s selection of Figarti’s LVT’s (LVT(A) -1 and LVT-4). They still have two of the three LVT's that Figarti produced. You might be able to find the LVT (A)-4 elsewhere.

Hello Keith:

If you haven't already happen upon it. Treefrog has a wonderful Photo Gallery of various collector's picture posts of all eras including WWII. They are very good and you might want to check it out. I don't mean to be self serving, however you might be ebtertained with some of my USMC WWII picture post in the Gallery.

This display is awesome too!! I could care less about the europe dioramas, but there is some outstanding scenes from the pacific here. Thanks for your nice comments Carlos............Stryker II

Excellent displays, I especially like the bottle of sand you have acquired from

those beaches. It serves to remind us of the many sacrifices so many have

made for our country.
