PolarBear, You got me all excited there for a minute. I thought that WB was possibly coming out with a new glossy Crimean series to go with the last.

Neat figure none the less. I guess one figure now and then is better than none at all.

This is what we said we would do. Offer new figures for these VC ranges as additions to the Classic Gloss Redcoats range. There will be a few more up the road.

Thanks very much for posting the image of the Ensign of the 93rd Highlanders with the King's Colour.

Is the figure in gloss finish?

I think a companion figure of an Ensign with the Regimental Colour of the 93rd Highlanders should come next.

Hopefully over time, Richard and Ken will come up with enough figures for a Thin Red Line formation.

There was 2 crimean era highlanders made as collectors club exclusives 1 was a private & the other was a piper both were 93rd sutherland highlanders from the thin red line

At this time, William Britain has not made enough figures to form a Thin Red Line.

Frontline Figures made the most complete range of figures for the Thin Red Line.

Unfortunately, this range appears to be out of production now.

I am mindful that this is a William Britain thread, but here goes.....

Tradition of London has two sets of the glossy 93rd Highlanders with 6 figures each ie Sets 106 and 118.

In the Victoria Cross Series ?Retired thread, Mister Dave recommended Monarch Regalia available from Tedtoys. Monarch Regalia also has 6 figure sets of the 93rd Highlanders.

You are correct Raymond that the Frontline 93rd Highlanders are currently out of production. The good news is I emaild Gerard at Frontline and they are planning another production run later this year. At the time he was estimating late summer.

Last time I checked Frontline Crimean War 93rd Highlanders are still available from quite a few dealers

I am not currently looking for them. From my experience with the Frontline Crimean War figures is that you will find them listed on dealers websites, but when you actually contact them to buy they will tell you that the figures are out of stock. The last Frontline figures I bought directly from Gerard at Frontline in Hong Kong. I was able to get some that have been discontinued like the 4th Lt. Dragoons and 8th Hussars.

Hello Chuck,

Thanks very much for the good news.

I last communicated with Gerard in August 2008 and he said he could not give a definite delivery date for the Thin Red Line sets.

Great. It looks he has set a date now.

Here is the well known painting of the Thin Red Line at Balaclava by Robert Gibb in 1856.
