Hi, does anyone of have any historical photos of a black-clad SS band? I was just wondering if the set is historically accurate?

Mate, I was surprised how many German marching songs and music albums you can buy! I know the odd bavarian beer swelling tunes are popular but when I started searching I was taken aback.

A fella at work loves the German marches and he bought a modern Luftwaffe band album off ITunes......personally, I'll stick with the Dambusters and 633 Squadron.

Seriously! There's a ton of stuff on YouTube. I searched for and bookmarked a couple of Wagner pieces, and I have to minimize the screen when I play them, because the Related Videos display is full of Nazi references, and German ultra-nationalist posts, showing either Nazi version or pre-Nazi version of the Reichsbanner. A lot of people out there have a fascination with the period, many probably an unhealthy one.

Could be worse, could be like those knuckleheads over in Phillipsburg that named their kid Adolf Hitler. Then they got mad when the grocery store wouldn't put that on a cake they ordered. I mean, they can name their kids what they want, but please don't be surprised if some people find it offensive.

Yup you can watch videos on youtube of full length Nazi parades from Hitlers birthday and such. I've seen all the LAH pieces in these videos, and would have to say that the LAH range is probably one of the most historically accurate.

If you buy the cd triumph of the will at rzm you will see some of the best movies of german marching music out there. The leibstandarte parade near the end shows the ss band goosestepping while playing. It looks loke kc did a great job.
