When I started this hobby, Not too long ago. I was curious at first So I said I will buy One piece, And see how it looks, And Bought that one Piece( EA026), And when I received it. I was totally intrigued by how great it was made.
So I continued on ( eventually having over 50 pieces, in the WW2 arena). And I found Myself waning down a bit because most If not all the pieces I wanted, I got. 4 shermans, Tunisian Tiger(my favorite), Wittmans Last tank, Stug etc. And still waiting for the Bunker, The Cromwell. The Firefly (sorry, I got it. But K&C. should have made it before Figarti did.)
So anyway, My interest was waning a liitle bit. Then I Saw The Napoleonic collection. And Here we go. Strong Again!!. Thank you!!

Careful. It's tough enough collecting just WW2 as it is a very large series with some expensive pieces. Collecting multiple eras gets very costly. I have managed to stay with just WW2, but the Napoleonic era is a major weakness. It could start with just one cannon then expand to just all the cannons and gun crews, plus Napoleon's tent, then the Crimean Russians, and so on...

Of course, if we let Max (the destroyer) play with some of our figures, that should lighten up your display space immensely:eek::D

I basically did the same thing when I started a few years ago collecting K&C. I was only going to buy WWII. Well, just recently I have bought a couple of Alamo pieces and a couple of American Revolution pieces. I hope I can keep from getting too carried away!

Similar story here. I started out with the intention of only buying WWII figures and even then only from specific lines/campaigns ( Commonwealth from Arnhem, D-day and FOB ). :) Eventually that discipline melted away to include their vehicles and then dabbling into other WWII lines and combatants. Now I've also managed to accumulate a very large number of Crusaders and Napoleonics!!! I've even got the odd figure here and there from other lines that I have not been able to resist!!! I'm definitely going to have to sell some pieces soon, its all too much.

This Hobby, The Anticipation of getting the piece, And The Joy of getting it in your Hands. Its Great!!.
I remember growing Up , My Father (a kid at heart, Always race me to the toy/hobby section) Use to buy Toy soldiers. For me. But It will eventually Go to a display case. When Not being played. All plastic. Buy A joy it was shared.
I Just wish that He is still alive. To see this Hobby of mine now. He would be thrilled as Much as I am on every piece I get. But at least I know that if I ever get a kid Of my own. The wonders Of things that Could be had, And have. Surely the joy, It would be to be shared Once more.:)

You got it right...It is really about Dads, Sons, Grandpas...and enjoying what they would have really gotten a kick out of. It's called passing it on:)

My son is really into this hobby right now. I think he has soldiers on the mind 24/7. If I'm at work and a package comes he can almost sniff out the the contents and know its more K&C figures. Right now he can only marvel at them and he always tells his little sister one day these will all be mine. I love watching his face light up when I show him my collection. He always has so many questions. Sometimes I need to remind him that theres more to being a kid then toy soldiers such as baseball, hockey, football, transformers, starwars etc....

If you get tired of one line there are plenty others. Latest weakness are the Crusaders and Saracens:rolleyes:
