........for having me as your show agent.

Am currently down in PA at the Historicon Wargaming Convention. The dealer hall was jam packed yesterday with shoppers, no doom and gloom here, amazing is all I can say.

Anyway, about 4:00pm this gentleman walks up to my table and says "Wow, so who makes those French Guard Chasseurs?" and I told him First Legion, then he says "They are beautiful, you did an incredible job painting them", to which I said, sorry, I cannot take credit for that paint job.

He then asks how much they are and I told him 45.00 for most of them; he bought 16, plus 3 of the Russian Hussars, a sale north of 1,200.00.

Unreal.

And he said he'd be back later in the weekend for some British.

Matt, you are the man; no one and I mean no one spends that kind of cake at a wargaming show on toy soldiers.

Until now.

Good show, George! (no pun intended)

You're one of the guys I think of, when I hear some dealers grumble about how poorly they do at shows. I think, "Funny, the other guys I've talked to say they're having a great show".

I guess it goes back to being a good businessman--find good products and treat your customers well, and you'll always do well.

Glad to hear the show is off to a good start, prost!

And A dealer who I have never met personally, but I'm assuming has a big huge smile on his face while dealing with customers, and has a genuine hard-core interest in his wares.:) That and a positive outlook produces more business than an MBA can measure! Continued Success, George!:)

Mike,

From personal experience I can confirm that "Rocky" is one of the nicest, most genuine, and honourable gentleman it's ever been my pleasure to deal with. People on this forum ought to know without question that I'm the exact opposite of a sychophant as far as comments such as these are concerned, and I wouldn't make them if I didn't mean it the way I say it.
Anyone dealing with George can be assured of 100% excellent service.
And while I'm at it - I can honestly say the same for Sierra - and Treefrog too. And that's just my two dollers worth - for what it's worth.
Credit where credit due as far as I'm concerned.

Regards
Harry

Congratulations George, great figures, great dealer so no surprises here.

Congratulations George, good job. I known now who to send my Dioramas to sale….:p:D:)

Harry's right on all counts.

Thank you Mr. George, you have always gone out of your way to help me in any way possible, no matter if it's painting, dios, pricing, you deserve all the nice comments on here, keep up the great work and I'll keep sending you my business...Sammy

Thanks very much for all the kind words men, glad you are all happy with my service.

Brad is 100% right; why go to a show as a dealer and complain constantly, it trickles down to your customers.

I go to shows because I really want to be there, I am having a ball at this show, yesterday was nuts, they have already set a record for attendance and TODAY is usually the big day with alot of day trippers.

Oh and buy the way Mr Matt; did another 800.00 or so yesterday with First Legion, I guess you could say wargamers love your Napoleonics, can an entire table devoted to FL at future wargaming shows be far behind?

Thanks again everyone, I appreciate being appreciated...........

Excellent to hear George. I'm not really surprised that wargamers love our figures as I'm a wargamer and I design the ranges similar in style to wargames figures of course.

Guys, you have to understand that George isn't posting these sales because he sold a few thousand dollars in figures at a show. Its only that he sold them at a WARGAMING show where people are usually buying 28mm or 15mm unpainted figures or figures like our unpainted 40mm figures. However, there is a class of wargamer who pay upwards of $30 for a single TOP quality painted 28mm figure and to those guys our figures done to our sculpting and painting quality with our variety at $45 for a 54mm figure are a no brainer for them and get them thinking about wargaming with them! ;) Sounds like George my have run into a few of these folks....

George, did the WWII figures arrive in time to take to Historicon or did you have to leave before they got there? If the latter I'm sorry bud.....Sounds like you're doing ok though. :D

Yes I did notice that. I presume that those wargamers that seek high quality painted figures enjoy seeing more realistic figures in they gaming displays. Interesting that the same notion applies to those who seek more realistic looking figures in their diorama displays.

Well, from talking to and knowing a few wargamers, K & C is also quite popular with wargamers.

And to think a few years back at OTSN, I had a little to do with George switching from plastic to metal! I think he made the final decision after we left Andy,s room and had seen the prototypes of the WS40 Germans.
Always been one of my best friends in this hobby and looking forward to seeing you at OTSN.

I am sure they are, just as Matt noted that the lower priced options in other scales are popular with wargamers. Of course this is a FL thread, I think.;):)
