just won this baby on ebay.. i paid $344 w/out the box.
Good or bad deal? i really really wanted it but will i miss the nice box???

The entire set is unbelievable. This piece is still one of my favorite pieces. However the box and corresponding paperwork sets its aside from others. I paid around 400 for mine and got everything. Needless to say you will enjoy the Tiger.

It is one of my all time favourites. I think it sells for around $450 on e-bay in mint condition with a box. So $344 is a good price - I do not think the box adds $100 to this particular item as it is very popular and not too common. But that is just a guess. In any case, the tank and crew look even better in person than in the photos. You will really like it.

In my opinion this is K&C best overall set. Great box, nice Winter Tiger and five really well posed figures. It's a complete scene in itself.
If i could only keep one K&C set this would be the one.

tiger out of scale for my liking,figures look like giants when put next to the tiger,not one of my favourites,sorry,but hope you enjoy your capture,its always nice to get that something you really want.

I can't disagree when you say it's out of scale although I think what makes the set are the figures around the campfire.

It would seem high time for another Winter Tiger so who knows No, I don't have any inside information.

Yes it is a bit out of scale. I previously compared the Winter Tiger and the recent Tunisian Tiger and they are different in size. The Winter Tiger appears to be 1/32 and the Tunisian Tiger appears to be 1/30. If the 2 standing figures with the Winter Tiger are placed side by side with the 2 standing figures of the Tunisian Tiger, they are identical in size. So the figures are a bit large for the Winter Tiger. But it is still my favourite K&C piece

HAWKEYE,when you put figures and vehicles together then scale does matter,on this particular set the figures makes the tiger look like a panzer 3,not the armoured monster it was in its day and when its next to the tunisian tiger it looks even more ridiculous,therefore when you compare like for like scale does matter,surely? I personally wouldnt buy it because of my out of scale issue with the set.I am sure scale aside it brings great enjoyment to the collectors who have it.
