I just started the Napoleonic side of a Collection, And Got a few Dragoon Pieces (In horseback). So I wanted To Keep continuing To get Dragoon pieces The newer releases. ONE SLIGHT PROBLEM, THEIR SHIRTS ARE PINK. I in all of over 35 years. have never bought pink, on anything that is pink. flowers, gifts. Now Andy, Why pink??., I know you more than likely modeled it after a great french regiment/ company, etc. BUT WHY!!(Dang no crrying smileys):(

That could be a sign of immaturity?;):p

If you are into history then it should not matter what colours certain people dressed in?

Nah, I just do not like pink And orange in a color. And it is just a turnoff, I spent about 550.00 dollars on The British(ColdStream) Side. And wanted To get into the french side with the dragoons. BUt now that is gone.

And not everyone is in this hobby, And the King And country Pieces are My pride and joy, I show it to anyone and everyone that visits my House, And Get envied at Without explanation.. But with Soldiers that has a pink color, Then I have To explain it.
I think Its just a bad choice of color, In everything that is made, You have to choose a color that atrracts to everyone that is buying that range. If you go through the whole King And country range. If they just started out, and pick pieces, from any given year. To start out a business with, Every single one will have the same outcome. KING and Country will be triving. But If they started Out With Soldiers that has pink garments in their uniform. That might not sell, As much as any given piece in any given year. Just My Opinion thats all.

You may not like pink, but it was a popular colour in French, Polish and even some Russian uniforms around 1800, especially among Dragoons and Cuirassiers. In fact the trumpeter of the 9th Cuirassiers had an all pink tunic. In 1802, the 9th Cuirassiers were brought up to strength by the addition of a company from each of the 19th and 22nd Regiments who were allowed to retain the uniforms of their old regiments whose colour was predominantly pink.

That's the way it was - very colourful uniforms. That is part of why collecting the Napoleonic era is so popular - I would guess second in popularity after WW2.

And if you think your Dragoons are pink, get a load of these guys :) Now that is pink!

If it helps, I believe that the Military term for pink was Polish crimson. A more "manly" term.

Actually I think you had to be pretty manly to wear pink, whatever the term. Certainly those Dragoons were tough buggers.;)

The british painted their vehicles pink in North Africa,a truer colour of camo against the shimmering sun,the Long Range Desert Group and SAS units used them in abundance and still do when in that theatre.I was surprised king and country didnt model a pink chevvy or jeep for their 8th army range that may have sold well, still time yet i suppose. The waffen ss used an orange tint for their autumn camo smock too,so even in WW2,pink and orange were popular.

.....so even in WW2,pink and orange were popular.

As evidenced by some recently dug up archive photos.
