FIW French Command (1 Viewer)

Well, base colour aside (and as we all know, green bases are SOOO last seasons thing), they're looking pretty spangly.

Nice job mate.

Managed to track down any dark grey yet? ;)

Wonderful looking figures, Jeff,
you are fast this time.
They are great ........... even with green bases ;) :D

Really great figures and painting Jeff !!!

The green bases look great and the soldiers are awesome........sweet job.

I'm dying to see that flag bearer with two arms and a flag.

Dark grey paint is now in abundance thankfully and should be making an appearance soon on the Elephant thread ;)

Glad you all like the green bases, just wait till you see Konrad’s next painting requirement that will give Simon something to chew on!:D

Meanwhile on with the flag and the three Marines.

Thanks. :)

The old pegs come into their own again  the flag is a simple design of white cross and coloured quarters and as this detail is cast onto the model it made painting a lot easier. When these colours have dried the pole will be painted dark brown.

Great work Jeff..........really nice flag bearer.

Mike

You should really commission Jeff to do some FIW for you. Konrad has a wonderful FIW series that Jeff has done over the last year. He would likely do them in matte for you as long as there is green paint involved.

A better photo of the completed French infantry.

You are one lucky collector to have all these great figure painters creating your unique collection.

Absolutely, Randy,
that's exactly the way I think and I very much appreciate the opportunities given.

A big thank you for all the positive comments, much appreciated. :)

Just the Compagnies Franches de la Marines figures to go now, the guy on the left has had a coat of gloss white over the matt white undercoat. The equipment will be next.

Good grief! I've just realised that it's been nearly two weeks since my last update.:eek:

Apologies to Konrad for the lack of progress and I will be dusting off the figures as soon as I finish writing this.

Jeff

Don't you worry, Jeff,
once I know I will get them, then the time of waiting for these figures is almost as exciting as the day when I actually unwrap them ;) :)
Konrad

Konrad, I have made good progress and will be posting some photos later today.

As promised………. The face and hands will be next which always makes the figures look that much better.
