How do you display your K&C figures? Do you have a man cave/war room? :) (1 Viewer)

I am just curious how everyone here displays their K&C soldiers here. I'd like to here about other collectors setups. Specifically do you have a room in your house dedicated to the soldiers? Do you keep them in cases or make dioramas for the soldiers or do you keep them packed up in their boxes in the attic somewhere?

I took over a room in the house or rather "commandeered" and had my soldiers displayed in their. It was supposed to be a den/library and my wife decided to paint the walls a color called "fenland" which looked really good with the white trim from the moulding. I then realized "fenland" looks like a light olive drab and voila my war room was started with its military colored walls.

I then moved my library of orsprey books and military books into "the library" and then put my soldiers into their case. My pc also went into what was becoming my war room for gaming purposes, usually some sort of military strategy type game.

Before the OKF or Oberkommando die Frau (she who must be obeyed!) figured out what I was up to I had totally taken over the room and I had a place to display my figures, retreat to read a book or play a war game.

Now all I need is an afghan war rug to add to the flavor of the room!

I don't have any K&C. I do have Britains and I display them in a variety of display cabinets.

I don't know how close Aurora New York is the Roslyn Harbor, but drop on by sometime and I will give you a little tour of the museum . . . my man cave is a three room third floor with 800 square feet of display space and another 300 feet of storage space, in which I display in 10 cabinets and on 17 K&C custom dioramas 300+ armored vehicles, 100+ aircraft, 2500+ soldiers and a small collection of military memorabelia.

I have a display cabinet in the guest bedroom.

I keep my K&C toy soldiers (about 70 total) on book shelves in my bedroom. I only collect soldiers that are standing erect, or in a parade pose, so they look good on a book shelf. I don't do dioramas (at least not yet), so my collection doesn't take up too much space. Ideally, I would love to build some glass cabinets that are just a few inches deep so that I could display them as they are displayed at the store where I buy all my K&C soldiers.

Welcome to the Forum.

I supose my Den would qualify as a "Man Cave" at least the wife would think

so! It houses my desk, work table, TV, Coke Fridge, numerious displays

and showcases and a horde of other related items.

I also display items around the house (tastefully of course) including a wall

unit in the master bedroom!

I also have a second hobby room shop in the garages that accommodate my

motorcycles and such.

Wife is very tolerant!:D

Your all the way at the other end of the state Louis! I do travel to Trenton, NJ ever so often so maybe I will take you up on the visit to the museum some time :)

My collection (200+ soldiers) is in my office in 2 curio cabinets. They are shown in my album (on my forum profile).

Sounds like I've done pretty much the same as you Jfalk. However, for now I just have one bookcase, the bottom 2 are the war library and the top 3 shelves are used for rotating my displays. Right now, I have the Battle of the Bulge (American), Napoleonics (French vs Russians) and the top shelf is my current favorite, the Civil War. All three of which are dioramas. Here I play Company of Heroes (WWII real-time strategy game) and watch my war movies. I'd like to have the walls covered with Don Troiani and Robert Taylor prints, but that idea has been overruled for now. However, my wife is in favor of my getting a bigger and better display case.

Currently most of my collection is in curio cabinets but I increasingly find the desire to try my hand at dioramas. In fact I am in the process of making a rather large diorama of the Battle of the Bulge. Still working on that "man cave", I just need to get my permission slip from the wife 1st. :D

Mine have taken over the whole house where ever there is a space there a soldier doing something...:eek:going to have to build a shed out the back the girl is starting to get upset.

You could always build the shed for her :D just kiddin!

that's quite the question......I have about 70 plastic bins all containing any where from a couple of K&C boxes to 10 boxes which ever will fit....that's in the attic ...and another 20 or so in the garage....I never actually counted the no. of boxes??? I have 11 display cases...and 4 book cases full ......I had some in the basement family room but some of my collection got to big ....so I built a military room which also houses the furnace and hot water tank.....as soon as my son and daughter move out.... LOOK OUT!!!!

I live alone in a well restored 1920's appartment. I have free range to display where I choose. I use a large built in style bookself, and I have a unique area at the top of my hall way ( I live on a second level) that make a wonderful display area. It is the first area that visitors see when the arrive. I, like most of you would like to purchase curio cabnet to display my sets that I do not build dio-ramas with.

I have one large (6x6) cabinet in a basement room and it is stuffed. Looking for 2nd cabinet. I have plenty of room to expand my collection area, actually more room than money for troops.

The computer room has 7 glass cabinets, each with 4 22.5" X 13" glass shelves with 12" between shelves - a total of 28 small display spaces.

Evan as we speak I am haveing my son finish a part of my unfinished basement into a room strickly for displaying my soldiers. I finally decided all the money I have invested in soldiers they deserve a room of their own.
