Wow - Big Seller

Ron

Every step Andy takes towards the 19th C North West Frontier is ok with me.
My guess is the line will be like Sand Pebbles with generic figures rather than portraits of the movie stars. In Kipling's original story Wee Willie Winkie was a boy anyway.

Randy

I agree with Polar...i'd add... every step that Andy takes towards the British Raj is welcome!Shirley Temple too!

Well you guys should have been there, no doubt. Randy trust you to have that Wee Willie Winkie promo shot LOL;). Andy loved the movie and thought Shirley Temple had great appeal.

North West Frontier .... now there is a whole new campaign to get stuck into!

Not only will there be the rows of British troops, all resplendant in thier uniforms, but you'd have to have the Indian troops, the magnificant cavalry, and mountain guns. Added to this could be the baggage train comprising bullock carts, bearers, chai wallahs, countless urchins, snake charmers, dancing bears...... and the list goes on.

This could make The Streets of Hong Kong series look like a sideshow when compared with the Sub-Continent !!!

Only one problem is which Afgahn War are we dealing with? The 1st in 1893, 2nd in 1848 - 1880, or 2009 ???????

Think Rudyard Kipling

The interesting thing about this Shirley Temple movie is that it was directed by none other than John Ford. Just substitute the US Cavalry and the Indians for the British and Afghan warriors. It was filmed in the Alabama Hills of California often used for westerns but here doubling for the North West Frontier.

Hi
Having just read this thread I was wondering how many drinks did Andy have with his dinner? Is this his sense of humour? Or perhaps, Andy's way of introducing the North West Frontier to K&C collectors ? At least he can continue with his kilted hero's. Never mind, who am I to undermine the maestro
Having just had another thought - what about K&C producing famous people of the silver screen - Shirley Temple, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Stanley Baker etc, etc, .... just a thought. :p PS I love St. Trinians :D

He said it to me with a straight face and asked me to make the announcement. Yes I the Kilted One was asked to carry forth the good news.;)

The amazing thing was he was drinking a diet coke during dinner he didn't start drinking until after he made the announcement. You are bad KV he said not to announce it until Chicago

If he was going to announce it, I doubt it would have been through this medium.

After all in these years we had the Indian lancers in the Collector club and lately the beautiful British lancer, so why not a Indian range?Usually this kind of operation pre dated a complete range:)
