Hi Scott,

Thank you for posting the photos of your Appomattox diorama. I experience the scene you created as a very moving one. My compliments for an excellent re-creation of one of the most important events in the history of our country.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Thank you Pat and Randy

I'd like to make a line of Union troops at "order arms" The story was that General Chamberlain ordered his troops to go to "shoulder arms" as a sign of respect to the Confederates. It's not the full salute, but an "attention" command. Then I could have one unit still at "order" until the first Confederates approach.

I used up the last of my Union castings that I had made back in the late 80s.

Very, Very nice job.
Nice looking figures,fence and buildings.
Are they hand painted by you?
and did you actually make the figures?
They have a unique look about them:).
Nick

Yes I painted them. All of the figures are Imrie-Risley with some converted parts and head swopped around. The civilians are from the Dickens and Sherlock Holmes series.

Excellent painting Scott. Those Imrie Risley figures are better than I thought they were.

That makes it even better that you hand painted them all. How many figures total do you have and are they all from the same time period?
I like the nanny :)
Nick

The nanny was Mrs. Cratchit. I recently started painting again after a long dry spell. Most of my figures, several hundred were done in the 70s and 80s. Most subjects are the US Civil War, US Rev War, War of 1812, pirates and the risque subjects that Cliff Sanderson did for Monarch plus the Phoenix Follies figures. I used to sell toy style figures to the local gift shops and started doing it again to make some $$$$. Unpainted Plastics took over for me 10 years ago when they started doing insteresting subjects.
