Arnhem 44 AN001 Questions (2 Viewers)

Raymond many of us are always glad to help with photos, or information if we can! I am usually up till 2am in the den checking something out, so feel free to drop me a note if I can help.

King & Country figures are really durible and can usually be worked on a little
to straighten out a gun barrel, or antenna when necessary. That is one of the things I like about them!

I can still recall my vast army of Britians figures from my youth, all missing heads, swords, gun barrels, and bases! One tiny mishap and you have a bend, one attempt to repair it always resulted in yet another headless figure!

Hi njja,

You have been a great help and I do very much appreciate it.

The posts in this thread on the first K&C Arnhem44 set by yourself, Brad and Louis inspired me to get one of my own.

Grateful Thanks, Raymond.

Well thats terrific! I think the Arnhem Series is one of the nicest ones Andy has done. The series was limit 16 different sets so even though some are a bit pricey it is still something that someone could complete with a little effort and a bit of fun!

I also like the Vietnam Series, again a very limited series with just 6 different sets of figures, a Huey, and an M113 done in both wood, and resin & metal.
Louis also has a second armored vehicle (I believe only Andy also has one) and he has them resting on a 2 piece firebase.

Like the Arnhem Series, these figures are quite unique, and a tad more reasonable when available. The firebase is quite limited done in a 2 piece and a 6 piece version but it has been on Ebay once. So has the Huey, I have yet to see any of the armour pieces but you never know.

Here are each of the sets.....just for a quick look.

Sets 1, 2 & 3.

Finally sets #7 "The Marines II" and #8 "The Vietcong" last is a shot of the

6 piece Firebase with landing pad, command bunker, and Hospital. It is a sharp

piece that can be put together in many different configurations with the

sandbag walls always lining up.....which is cool.

Hi njja,

Thanks very much for staying up to post these great shots of the K&C Vietnam series.

These sets do not feature very often on the forum, so this is a real treat.

I like the firebase. Awesome.

Kind Regards, Raymond.

Hi njja,

Did you tell her the VC are attacking the firebase ?:D

The night action shots are just super.

The good ole M113's and you have both types I think.

The last one of the firebase at night looks a winner.

Many Thanks and Kind Regards, Raymond,:)

Hi Raymond yes the top right corner is also missing in the short 1st Series figure also. That picture hides it, the sign is actually back a bit from the figure and the missing corner is clearly visible.

Hi njja,

Here are 2 shots of the missing top right corner of the Arnhem 1km sign.

Thanks, Raymond.

Unfortunately receiving damaged figures seems to go hat in hand with buying retired figures. Occupational hazard so to speak. We all have our horror stories.

This is the set with the barrels re-aligned.

The areas of paint loss are the tell tale signs of my "repair" work.

The paint touch up will have to wait.

Best Regards, Raymond.

Raymond, glad you liked the photos of the Vietnam Series! I enjoy taking a few photos and sharing them with other collectors!

Your AN01 set looks great! Don't worry about the areas that need to be touched up, since they are matt finished you shouldn't have any trouble. Just take your time with a good brush and some quality paint (water base) and they will be back to normal in no time!

Its really nice that your set came with the certificate, they are always nice to have and do not always come with the first series sets!

Okay you have the first one.....now only 15 more to go!:D

This is one you might look out for next AN11 "Single Para with Thompson" it
was a special release for King & Country UK and only 64 pieces were issued
with certificates. It has brought over $400 a couple of times, but it also has sold for less the $100 several times. So its a fun item to watch out for!

Here is a shot of it!

sign before!:)
