Well, I finally received my two Camel Corps that I made arrangements to purchase in Chicago and here are a couple of photos.

In one of the photos, there is a third Camel Corps. This is the most recent issue by Britains and it's very nice and comparable to K & C. If you don't have the K & C and don't want to spend the money (plus they're hard to find), I recommend the two Britains Camel Corps. Very nicely done.

Brad,

The K&C Camel Corps are beauties.

As you said before, these are to die for.

I must get one, just one before I ..........

Thanks for sharing, Raymond.:)

Raymond,

I know you would like this. One day I will try to photograph all my camels which are a selection of K & C, Trophy, Britains and Tradition.

Brad,

I shall wait patiently.:D:)

Raymond.

It's actually not that many. I also have a Somerset one to add to the list. The actual grand total is 13.

Brad,
I have not seen a dio by anyone here of a mass grouping of Camel Corps trying to reach the wells. This will be your mission to get all in a picture as they make they're way across the Sudanese desert:D It'll be great!
Mike

Yes, real beauts! Congrats on your find!

I agree with Mike, you should set up a nice desert display.

I have three of the Sommerset Lawrence of Arabia camels and one K&C that I repaired I never thought about putting them together though.

Very nice Brad, although it appears you have too many camels :D:D:D

Hi Scott,

When it comes to the British Camel Corps in the Sudan, I personally find that you can never have enough.

It is like you either love'em or hate'em. However, once you are bitten, that's it.

Best Regards, Raymond.:)

Brad & Raymond,

Sorry I was being sarcastic :) There is a quote by one collector who says you can never have too many camels. Hence my comment

That is Clive. What a collection he must have. A couple of years back, he won about seven or eight Trophy auctions from an auction house in Long Island and asked me to arrange shipment. My god, there must have been 30 or 40 camels. It was something to behold. Clive was kind enough to give me a camel for my efforts. I think that's where his phrase "you can never have enough camels" sprung from.

Hi Scott,

It's OK. Absolutely no need to say sorry.

I was trying to make the point that most collectors of the Camel Corps tend to be rather passionate about their "Ships of the Desert'.

On the flip side of the coin, other collectors just do not fancy camels.

One of the buyers of my Trophy Camel Corps sets says something similar to Clive ie: "you just can never have enough camels".

When the last K&C Camel Corps was listed, bidding was quite aggressive and the set went for about USD $350.00.

Best Regards, Raymond.:)

Come on Andy stop toying with us.
Revisit the colonial period
Brad lovely camels.
Warbirds are OK I guess.:D

I like the camels, also. I have a small unit of 5 Somerset camels from the 25th Punjab Frontier Force Camel Corps and 1 Somerset Lawrence of Arabia. They are great figures and are some of my favorites. -- lancer

Hi lancer,

Any chance of seeing some photos of your Somerset camel collection ?

Thanks, Raymond.:)

I have a couple of Somerset camels as well as some other figures from one of their Indian series. Their camels are quite similar to the K & C ones since Ron used to make them for Andy.

Hi Martyn and Raymond. I would love to post pictures but have no way to do it. I own no camera and wouldn't have the technical knowledge to post them anyway. I am going to try to get my daughter to use her camera and brains to solve this, when she has time. I am sorry, but I am rather computer ignorant. Some day... - Al
