I don't know about K&C doing these figures, but East of India does a superior line of Greek Hoplites, and at the Chicago Show Conte had a line of Spartans from Thermoplae on display.

hi Andy, i think that your catalogue is a full of options, and maybe to much stuff at the same time is not a good thingHi Guys,
Sorry I’ve been away but I’ve got a great excuse…went to Chicago…then to Texas…back to Hong Kong…and then up to China…got back yesterday – and I'm still catching my breath!
Now, onto the latest suggestions…“Ancient Spartans” first of all – good enough idea but, alas, not for K&C. We already produce Ancient Romans and Barbarians plus Ancient Egypt. I think that’s enough old antiquity for one company don’t you?
Another factor, as many of you know, is that Andy likes to do what Andy likes to do. That usually translates into subject matter that historically and militarily appeals to me and, hopefully, something I know a little bit about. “Sparta and the Spartans” I’m afraid is a subject and a period I know virtually nothing about. Although I did see the movie “300 Spartans” many, many moons ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Re the second suggestion for the Greek / Italian Campaign of 1941 – again interesting idea but…not very commercial in my opinion. The most fascinating part of that campaign for me was the German airborne invasion of Crete. And to make that work you need lots of Junker 52’s and gliders. Ooops, what have I said – more demands for aeroplanes – Junkers…Stukas…Messerschmitts…Hurricanes etc…etc.
As most of you know we’re already doing “Fall of France”…“Normandy ‘44”… “Battle of Berlin”…“Iwo Jima”…“North Africa”…to name just a few series that all need “add-ons” in 2007 and beyond. So to cut a long story short don’t, alas, hold your breath waiting for Greeks V. Italians any time soon. Sorry, but I’ll leave that one to Figarti…Honour Bound…New Model Army or anyone else should they choose to accept the mission.
In the meantime it’s back to the salt mines for me.
Best wishes and…happy collecting.
Andy C.

More demands for airplanes? Who could want that? Me, me, me.....
Didn't the Romans and the Egyptians fight each other, Marc Anthony and Cleopatra and all?
How about melding the 2 with that in mind, some egyptian fighting poses and more on the marc and Cleo line?
Ray
We don't need JU52's we need FJ's on the ground at Maleme, fighting to keep a foothold against some good commonwealth troops ( who weren't backed up very well by their leadship)
Hi Guys,
I think “nmrocks” must have a spy in K&C’s head office. His suggestion of Cleopatra…Caesar…Mark Anthony is right on the button!
There’s a whole bunch of new / ancient Egyptians in the works either for late 2006 or early 2007. Not fighting though but still very colourful and exciting.
Look out for the two Roman gentlemen and watch this space.
Best wishes and…happy collecting,
Andy C.
Any of those interesting...ahem...dancing girls Andrew?![]()
