I am looking for a single standing Napoleonic era Mameluke figure in either gloss or matte finish, either 1/32 or 1/30 scale. Does anyone know of any currently available from the various toy soldier manufacturers?

Below are examples of the kind of figure I am looking for:

Hi Randy, I have one in my collection, very good painted, but it is from HISTOREX; I believe. So it is a plastic figure, not a tin figure.
What do you think about it ?

Hi Marcus

I am looking for something that is already painted and preferably metal.

Thanks,

Randy

I just found these from Alexanders Toy Soldiers which are available by order from Green's Collectibles in NJ. They are mounted but within my price range.

Hi Randy,

I have this one and it's very nicely done (SL Kirmann):
http://www.drapeaux-de-france.net/index.php?id=9&idproduit=1288
but you will have to order it in France from that online store. I did a lot of business with them (more than 80 figures) and everything arrived intact.

I have the Art I.G. one too but it's mounted.

Legions by Lesage still has it at a reasonable price, please see:

This is a great figure. Is it 54mm?

They list 2 prices next to it. Is one the postage and shipping? I take it the prices are in euros? 99.00 € TTC (82.78 € HT) $260.00 total:eek: or is one the a price for a casting?

Yes, it is 54 mm. It's made by Metal Modeles for Le Cimier in France. Le Cimier has a web site too but they only sell it non-painted for 14 Euros, please see: http://www.lecimier.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_33&products_id=181

Now the prices indicated on the other web site (Les Drapeaux de France's) are respectively with VAT (the first one) and without (the second one). Since you are in the US, they will charge you the second one (without VAT). In dollars this would translate to $125 without shipping. Shipping costs for France are 12 Euros. I would suspect that for the US it could be around 20 Euros. If you are interested and if needed, I can contact them and ask them. I speak French...

Randy,

These are hand made by Graham Mollard of GNM Miniatures and were on display at the London show earlier this month. Not sure whether he makes standing figures.

They look great. I could not find a Web site for GNM Miniatures. Do they have one?

I don't think so according to my conversation with his daughter at the show. Everything is hand made and painted to order. The reins etc are separate and soldered in position. A true labour of love.

Too bad that they don't have a Web site. I would love to have a closer look at their figures...:(
