Andy...if your listening? (1 Viewer)

O.k Andy here's my deal...I'll pay $15,000 for the plan...in exchange give me a bunch of your oldest collectibles worth $10,000 and rights to own 100 pieces of the limited figures?

9 car garage, I 'd love to see that!

Your marketing idea reminds me of the AOL advertising campaign. Remember when they used to send everyone those free AOL cds? It worked on me, I was an AOL customer for many years. Of course cd's are cheaper to produce then metal toy soldiers.

But if you are only producing 1 figure, 1 pose, and that is always the one you use for marketing, even if it isn't a limited, it would still attract attentiion think.

Another idea is to offer a catalog that is marketed in one of those catalog of catlaogs. Do you ever get those in the mail? It is a catalog, which lists catalogs of all different companies. Some of the catalogs you can order are free, some are a $1 or $2.

Very true! There was this company called Gameznflix. They were very similiar to Netflix except they rented both games and movies...I invested heavily (9,000,000 shares) every time that stock moved 1 penny I was rewarded $90,000. I would speak with the owner often and ran some ideas by him. One thing I wanted him to focus on more than anything was to try growing in one large city at a time vs. trying to go nationwide all at once. I suggested taking on San Francisco heavily and becoming a dominate company in that city alone and then when accomplished move onto the next big city. Unfortunately his pants were big and he tried to be too big too fast which led to poor service...not to mention I had always wondered about the outrageous consulting fees and if growing the company was his main goal or selling shares into the market?

Fascinating, it is a good thing you are posting these so you have a record of these bold concepts.;)

I'm confused on this one as if there are 1,000 of the limited figure, that is really not limited as unless I am mistaken, K & C's usual production run is 1,000 figures.

So if you get 100 of these and say they are worth the going rate of 32.00 per figure, that is 3200.00 at retail plus the 10 grand in older collectibles equals 13,200.00, for which you paid 15,000.00, so you are 1,800.00 in the hole.

Not sure how that is really a good deal for you Markey.

You might want to rework the numbers.

I am guessing he is counting on appreciation of the figures..which is pretty much a given, so not a bad deal at all. Frankly, I am one of those over-priced consultants mentioned below and I would jump at a chance to invest in a similar venture.

I was thinking more of it as an investment as there should be fewer turning up making it more rare and less available...$50 was a fair value in a few years?...and owning anything of Andy's personal collection has to be good stuff and I would have to have him sign each piece of course...anyhow all of this is just a dream and Im about to wake up any moment! :(

Nicholas....now your talking! I'm sure most here are on the upper scale of true K&C diehards...I like the idea of a group collector figure built from King & Country's own group of collectors with their own grouped dollars!

I'm not sure how to create a poll or if one's already been created but I would be interested in knowing what the majority does for a living i.e doctor, lawyer, locksmith, plumber, jobless or retired...it's a good start to determine why, where and how the dollars flow into this stuff. Maybe easier to create a poll per sector rather than job type?

Interesting...I know where you're coming from, but the truth is (and this is what I enjoy about chating with collectors), we all come from different walks of life, but we all have a common passion, and when you read these posts, most of the time, you are right there with them. Of course few collectors have the resources to go out and buy the whole collection at once, and that probably wouldn't be as much fun anyway, but a true collector is a loyal patron, and that is a pretty great client base to have.

OK, well I tell you what; if I get one I will happily sell it to you at one/half of your expected appreciation.;)

Back to the matter of who the free samples would be sent to, it would have to be a very targeted list of people based on a select list of qualifiers. Such as 1) have the disposable income to become actively engaged in the hobby, 2) have a moderate to large social circle so that they engage others in the hobby, and 3) through their past purchases, stated interest, travel, or visits to historical sites, have shown some interest in military history, which is at the heart of the hobby. I don't know if such a list exists, but it would not be impossible to put together.
