Yes I have all Mr Gibsons films on Blu ray and think he is the leading Historian of our age.I've not heard of Kellys Heroes as I don't collect WW2,I am mainly interested in WB's Jane Austen series and am very much looking forward to 'Lark Rise to Candleford' range,the true story of a rural Post Office.

My hobbies include calling for the Death sentence for MP's who claim expenses,taunting celebrity Chefs and churning my own butter.

Bit namby pamby only taunting celebrity chefs instead of wanting them flogged with Klingon pain sticks as they deserve? And churning your own butter? Like stirring things up do you? I guess I'm too moderate to carry this off mate,how about Hanging drawing and quatering for people who throw litter out of Car windows?.Flogging round the fleet for people who speak in that way in which the tone of their voice changes at the end of every sentence?(High rising termnal).I'VE GOT IT!! You know me mate I'm only pulling your leg but yes I admit I do get a little peeved at the same regurgitated threads month after month after month and before some wag tells me I dont have to read them-I don't!

But they do tend to slightly clog up the K&C board especially if there is a particularly interesting topic being discussed and it gets pushed to the bottom of the page only to be killed off by these regular recurring threads of banality .

I hear you mate.For me its about balance.I don't think theres any harm if once a month we have the dispatches thread as its good to just chew the cud and get the discussion going,its a great hobby to share this one.But of course there are limits even for me and I see some of these threads as sometimes a relief from the rivet counter type of thread that (according to some pm's I get)also put people off.Again its about moderation and balance,there should be room for rivet counting,a little bit of ra ra and even the odd Poll now and again.Its all good Bob

I'm sorry you find my threads banal Bob,never meant to offend old bean.But I do enjoy talking to folk about everything and anything to do with this hobby.
