At the London show I collected my custom made JG beach terrain mat and the last 2 K&C figure sets I needed to finish off my dio.
I am so pleased with the result I can't stop rearranging things! :)

Very cool!:cool: The new beach mats from JG Miniatures and Build A Rama really make setting up realistic D-Day dioramas easy.

Very true Louis. I don't have the skill to make the sea by myself so these mats make a fantastic alternative.

Rob- what do you think do I need the piper figure bagpiping on the LCA?

Yeah you gotta do it mate, have him either coming down the ramp or walking up the beach in the middle of the inferno,he does look good.

You know I'll end up having to get it!
He can be piping amidst the hail of machine gun fire.

LOL! Hard to resist isn't mate,I even got Monty and the Caen sign!.Monty's back in Portsmouth but the Caen sign looks great with my Commandos:cool:

Excellent photos James, any chance of a photo of just the matt without the figures & vehicles? Whats the price range for one of these?

Thanks for sharing Craig

That is a great matt. Glad they have been coming out with these... really helps bring dioramas to life! I think they should complement these matts with more backgrounds like Ken Osen's latest background for Britains "Chosen Ground" series. I prefer backgrounds that are painted or represent historical paintings then actual photographs... somehow for me, it just sets the correct atmosphere with the figures and accessories in the foreground.

I'm happy to see K&C honoring the allied troops for their WW2 efforts with their latest releases. Thanks to K&C and thanks for the diorama photos!

Outstanding!!! You have quite a collection there and everything looks great. Definitely one of my all time favourite K&C lines and those matts really add to your display. Don't know if you have them but if you don't add some of the old commando sets and some brit armour and then everything goes to a whole new level!

I do have a Commando attack set! I might add in the Cromwell too and take off the bunker for a new picture.

Great setup James! I still have to get most of those new figures. Would like to catch up on those before the new D Day stuff comes out this year.

Looks real nice. Those LC's are great and the Canadian infantry are really well done. -- lancer

Nice job James. The mat looks great. I agree with Rob though, does need the piper wading in to battle. Oh, and a Military Policeman shouting and pointing, that would really set it off. :D

You really are a bad influence Simon. But I am not easily led astray by the likes of you and Rob.
But I guess no dio is complete without a mad piper and pointing policeman. :)
