Regal US Marine Colour Party (1 Viewer)

Hi Frank, yes they are for sale and since you're in Australia you can order direct from Regal, so the best bet is to contact them via e-mail (office@regaltoysoldiers.co.nz) and let them know what you want and they can tell you the cost and how to order via the website. Did you also see the West Point Colour Party on the blog? It's painted in gloss but I know that they will paint any of their sets in matte if asked. There is also a 200th Anniversary flag for the West Point Party as well. Cheers Scott

I always loved Regals flags but I think gloss better suits the sculpts.

Hi Mr Gideon
As a collector of Standard bearers I do prefer matte figures - there is something about this set I really like, but since reading your post I'm beginning to think about what you said. However I will have to look at Regal
some more. But I really do like the Marine Colour Party shown by Scott.
Not to impressed with their website but Scott tells me they are improving it -
thks for your comments :)

Let me tell you, with the gloss civil war flags, the gloss finish makes them "pop". They are big, heavy and clunky which is just perfect for the gloss finish.

Even with those extra details they've painted in, the set would really stand out if they were "shiny". Gloss finish doesn't mean they have to have dots and slits for eyes or other simplified details.

When I see more traditional figures in matte, it just looks odd. Matte is really for more lifelike sculpts, in my opinion.

those soldiers are very nice indeed.
i like how they blended glossy sculpts with matte paint.

Found this figure while hunting around the Regal workshop, it's the West Point Bi-Centennial Flag from 2002.
