OK Guys - Here is my response to your remarks and comments.

1). I do not post items for sale that Pete and Shannon have for sale on their website.

2). My arrangement with them is between us and if they are upset with me for any reason - I am sure they will let me know.

3). For those of you who have been in the shop in Gettysburg, you know that I am completely full and have no room to put the new items as they are released. I am not desparate at all. And not that it is anyone's business or need to know but a large percentage of my revenue goes to my favorite charities (all Wounded Warrior and Veteran related).

4). In my classified ads I list the prices. I do not play games. In the case of the "make offer" ads. I have accepted almost all of the offers received except for the ridiculously low ones.

5). I appreciate the MANY orders and the MANY fellow Tree Froggers that have made purchases from me and most have indicated that they are very happy to be able to purchase these retired/sold out items. I also appreciate the kind comments made on Tree Frog.

6). For those of you that do not like me or my techniques - I am sorry but there is little I can do about that. If you dont like the ads - please don't look at them - you have apparently already decided not to purchase from me.

7). Thanks to those of you who have supported me and to the rest of you - have a great day.

8). Most of all - thanks to Shannon and Pete for allowing me to make my posts and give collectors the chance to get some of those older and hard to find items that they have been seeking.

Best regards

Well me personally hope you keep the listings going Stan im a very happy customer........................:)

Hi Stan,

Thank you very much for the fast and friendly customer service.

I am very happy with my purchases from you.

It is a far better experience buying sets from you than bidding on eBay.

Kind Regards, Raymond.:)

I agree, me and Stan had a problem once due to my being childish, however I just done a deal with him and he put everything behind him with ease!:)

Thanks a lot Stan the man!:D
Great guy!:)

Guys, where can Stan's lists be viewed?

Rob

Having commented on pricing and distribution issues in the TS industry before (just a little bit!), I feel compelled to contribute a perspective: :)

- Clearly, other dealers posting items for sale on the TF site can only occur with the approval of Pete/Shannon.
- Dealers competing with dealers is a normal market dynamic. If TF permits other dealers to list products for sale on their site, that is their perogative and does not impinge on the overall distribution model.
- IF the dealer was actually desperate, it actually behooves the industry if it can sell items pre-distress. After all, a bankrupt business is likely to shed remaining inventory at truly depressed prices.
- Manufacturers set retail price levels under which dealers cannot go so that a massive price war does not undermine the entire industry. If a dealer is accepting bids below these set prices there may be some market dislocation in play.
- Secondary sellers/market makers have the most to lose by dealer inventory close-out practices. That is the risk one assumes when "dealing" in collectibles; Conversely, collectors have the most to gain.

I also thank you for you listings and your excellent service on the items I have bought from you Stan. I would note, many of those were actually retired and you did indeed save me from the trials of Ebay. I think the vast majority here understand and agree with your explanations and actually don't think they were even necessary. Please continue what you are doing and don't worry about the comments of the few detractors that seemingly have nothing better to do.

I think the above says it all and nothing more needs to be said.

I have spoken to Stan several times...by phone and by email...

I have purchased pieces from Stan in the past...

all my business dealings with him were pleasant experiences...

he seems genuinely passionate about collecting and will chat about my collecting and my passions...

if he did not have the piece I was looking for...he gladly pointed me in the right diresction...

if Treefrog and Stan have an arrangement...then so be it...

I always read his "sales posts" and will continue to do so...

Although I have never purchased anything from Stan (yet) I do enjoy viewing his sales list, and I think his reply to this subject was very well stated. next time I am in Gettysburg I hope I will be able to visit his shop.

Personally speaking I think that the other thread should be deleted from the forum, as it is embarrassing to all and sundry.

Stan is a very nice guy! I have purchased stuff from him and everything was awesome!!

Ditto ! Glad to see we can all find a way to 'work and play well' together in the toy soldier community.

My 2 cents. Maybe because I am online retailer myself. I have never felt it was appropriate to advertise my business or post anything that I maybe selling on eBay from my collection on this board. I have seen one or two of my competitors become members here, and then only post when they were advertising something. Maybe our hosts should contemplate charging for advertising space on the board like some other sites do. Great way to keep operating costs down :) I would be happy to pay with the amount of traffic that comes through here.

Classy response.

I suppose it is natural to find the post that agrees with you classy. To me it was just more of the same.....pity really.:(

Stan and Treefrog do have a standing agreement regarding classifieds on the forum and you will notice that the items he offers are not found on the Treefrog website.

One of the great things about the Treefrog Treasures forum is being able to find that hard-to-find item you've been searching through the collector classifieds or eBay listings. We have always worked hard to make the forum more than just an extension of the Treefrog store but instead a global meeting place for all toy soldier collectors.

While we prefer that people not post links to competitors' sales or promotions that would directly compete with Treefrog Treasures, we are fine with items not listed for sale on our website being offered. We expect (and appreciate) that dealers will contact us beforehand and ask permission to do so first, just as Stan did.
Best regards,
