The recent discussions about when a figure may cost $40 dollars may now especially in the UK be a lot sooner than we think.

With the terrific news that VAT in the UK will go too 20% is a real blow to the collectors and the hobby.

Currently a £33.95 figure will go up by £6.79 with this increase, if my math has not let me down, which, it has been known to do.

With the current debate about cost and collector restrictions this could not have come at a worse time for the hobby for, collectors and retailers.

Is any one else as concerned as I am?

Not quite that much. It would be increasing by an extra 2.5% from
the price it is now. But you are right this will have a large impact on expensive luxury items like toy soldiers.
I'm glad I started collecting 5 years ago so now I can be much more selective.

Said the math was not good added the cost with the full 20% on not the 2.5% but, its still uncomfortable with the inevitable price increases on top.

Like your thinking Jeff.

Yes Rob, all figure sets are now 84 pence each due to the budget shuffle. I'll see you bright and early with a huge bag. :)

Maybe they won't let me when they see this!:D

Apologies to all if I scared anyone just heard the news about the budget and added the 20%. Moral of the story don't watch the footy have abeer and flick over at then end and hear VAT is going up.

If taxes go up any more the only strong market will be in cloth caps as we will all be asking for handouts or, busking with Vouozella's!!!!

I appreciate that Rob. I plan to come back over one day. I've actually been to England half a dozen times or so, just not in the last ten years. My sister in/law is married to an Englishman and they are moving back to England in a few months, so maybe I'll be over soon.:)
