I have been stuck at home for a few weeks now, with my long term back injury causing me a lot of pain and discomfort and i'm just about at the end of my rope.So in attempt to cheer my self up i am going to take a leaf from Mr Gambale's book and list some of the things i would love to see the best toy soldier company in the world make.(Andy if you read this i'm not asking for these its just a way of passing time until the painkillers kick in!!)

Normandy: British mortar team,British rifle squad,U.S Flamethrower team,US/BRIT Casualties,Churchill Crocodile,Sherman Flail.

North Africa: Grant Tank,Sherman Tank,More Eighth army troops,AK tank riders,Kubelwagon,88mm.

Bulge:German 'chain dogs'with dogs,more German infantry attacking.

So humour me and tell me what you think of my list.Also is there anyone else out there that would love to see another Stug.?

Do you have either of the 2 most recent Stugs Rob? Both are quite nice especially the figures, as you might expect.

Good list there. i think you are bang on the money with your deset wish list.

Don't forget to add in FJ's in Crete. I have a Dragon and BBI FJ in Crete in my 1/6th collection and they are excellent.

As for your British mortar team suggestion I reckon we might see that in the Para range coming soon (but not soon enough!)

Hi Easy one,

We really think alike!I made up a small squad of 1/6 Dragon soldiers in Crete,they are some of my fave Dragon Figures.And i am reluctant to sell them despite pressure from the missus.Is the BBI one good?.

I think your right about the Para mortar team.Theres that classic pic of them in action in Arnhem,just right for reproduction.

I forgot the Stugs,i have not the latest one but the one before that.And i missed the ltd ed one.I really like the one i've got,goes real well with my other Normandy stuff.

I know exactly the pic you mean!

The BBI FJ was an anniversary figure from about 4 years ago called Fallschirmjager in Kreta. The general opinion is that it's one of the best ever done by either company. It came out at the same time as Dragon's Max that had the most gear i've ever seen! Both were good but the BBI one had the edge.
BBI did a pair of FJ's from the Ardennes a couple of years ago that are superb too.

Back on topic a Crete range would be good for Fields of Battle I think.
Loads of pictures of FJ's and Gebirgsjager walking through the rugged landscape and olive groves.

I think Crete would be a superb new range for K&C.The Germans suffered terribly in those Olive groves didn't they.I've read of the young fallschirmjagers armed only with pistols being hunted down by both British army and locals (armed with german weapons)and killed in the groves.I also saw a programme'Churchill and the Paras' in which a british veteran described walking through the groves and finding loads of German paras stuck in the trees and just shooting them one by one despite pleas for mercy.Very sad and moving.This bloke was only about eighteen at the time,my god you grew up quick in those days.

Missed the BBI Para,sounds a good one.

The British learned the same lesson at Arnhem but thankfully losses were not so high.

Am i right in thinking Crete was the Fallschirmjagers last major operation where they actually parachuted in?.

Some good ideas Ern,i would like to see some support troops and maybe an AK command centre.

It sounds like your back may be hurting but it appears that your mind is functioning very well. I like your ideas. A mortar team would be excellant. We have one for the DAK's and the US 3ID but the allies seem to need reinforcement. Also, the AK tank ideas. I would welcome them to my collection.

Thank you Michael,i appreciate your good wishes.Your right mate it is a pain in the a*** or lower back to be precise!.Its nice to be able to come on here and chat to like minded chaps,cheers me up no end.I'm sure Mr Gambale could come up with ten AK ideas for every one of mine! Your right we need reinforcements,they are coming later in the year with the paras-can't wait.

Hang in there Rob. As the 'proud owner' of herniated L3-L5 disks, I literally 'feel your pain. Luckily, I've been able to manage it to where I still ski, play softball and golf (and sometimes I just can't-lol).

I am constantly hoping for some Normandy and Ardennes FJ's from K&C. FJ's were my favorite sixth scale figures to collect and Kitbash when I was focused on that scale.

Thanks Mike,sounds like you handle your pain very well.Your an inspiration!Actually when i go to physiotherapy and see some people in there it makes me realise that i'm not as bad as i could be.

FJ's were cool in 1/6th although they took up a lot more room!.Kitbashing was fun and the results were very satisfying.

I'm sure you know quite well how it goes-you feel great for a while, then it 'hits'. I just refuse to have the offered surgery-I've heard of too many stories of very negative outcomes from it (one of the three least successful surgical outcomes in medicine from what I've read).

I'd rather play hurt, than not at all.

I've still got a couple shelves full of Kitbashed FJ's. I'm going to start putting them out on ebay to fund my purchase of all the new K&C WWII releases coming out later this month.

Excactly my experience Mike,one day your fine next day WHAM!!.I agree with you on the surgery too,heard some terrible things so won't go near it.

I'm selling my 1/6 as well,K&C don't pay for themselves!

If you have some concerns & questions in regards to back surgery I might be able to help out. I had numerous injuries from college sports & beyond coupled with getting hit by a drunk driver. I have had four major back operations inclusive of a five level fusion the most recent being December 2006-January 2007 all at the age of just 40 now. I will be able to fly again which is what I do for a job & pleasure & have a somewhat normal life. You will always some pain for the rest of your life but the pre-surgical biblical pain is gone. Unfortunately, I did not have much of a choice this time as in surgery or perhaps never walk of fly again so the choice was easy. The field has progressed rapidly since my last operation in 2002 just like K&C improved with their figures & tank tracks/treads, etc. Let me know if I can help you out. One piece of advice-easy on the Cortisone Injections!

No worries Rob-I am not going anywhere for at least two more months. At last count I had well over 40 cortisone injections with five of those in the back! I got some bad advice/prompting from coaches when I was younger-but I was invincible then. At present, I am repaying the physical loan with heavy interest indeed! Feel better!
