I pur-pose that Johnnybach here posts a trivia thread at high noon Texas time, on Tuesday, (1:00pm for me) (6:00 pm for you), and we see who can answer it fastest! "La paille au nez" (the straw in the nose) is the right answer. Bravo Trooper!
For those of you who wonder why? Here is the answer:
When Napoléon was telling his name "Napoleone" (before he converted it to French spelling) with his Corsican accent; to his French schoolmates it sounded like "Napoillioné" which is close in pronunciation to "La paille aux nez" therefore that nickname. Voilà !
