For me it is the "Special Edition" British Sherman. It has a little bit of the Staghorn and then some.Having seen two of the new war birds at Louis's house,we are now talking about a horse of a different color.(Speaking of horses, i think the German calvary pieces deserve at least an honorable mention.)

I'm with a lot of you guys, the detailing and painting on the Staghound is underrated by alot of us. The British Sherman has a very good paint job too. I just took a long look at it and I continue to marvel at it. As far as figures, the Russians (latest releases) and the Marines from the Iwo Jima series are some really well done figure sets. I am just glad that I don't have to choose between them. I really do like them all and I have a tough time choosing favorites.

K&C has twice done this figure as well (in glossy with the original Alamo release, and again, recently in matt).

I just checked it out on Bill Sager's site and it does look very nice indeed. I did not realize that K&C had done that scene, I've only seen the set that Britains has done showing the Mexicans beating in the door as Bowie lies in bed grabing a pistol. That one looks OK but the K&C is obviously much better. I haven't seen the glossy one, just the matte. Louis, thank you for the info.

Check out the pictures Brad just posted of my collection and you will see a closeup of the glossy Bowie's deathbed in the wood and papier mache Bowie's Bedroom K&C also produced.

I must fish out my glossy version of Bowie on his deathbed. It was one of the first sets I ordered from Mike and Sue. It is still packed away mores the pity. Your collection is great. Well done.

I must say the whole new Alamo series is probably some of the best sculpting that K and C have ever done. The texan cannon is great as is Davy Crocket. The Crusadee series also takes things to new levels. I think these two series were really the highlights of 2006.

This thread is a killer - ask me from day to day and they just keep getting better!

My favourite sets are the arnhem boys - brit paras :D - I can't bear to part with one - and the tommy patrol :) - but................the best are the latest sets as they just keep improving.

Never got my hands on a winter 88 and probably never will now....:(

Rob - agreed mate - also the work on the new camel corps is absolutely outstanding. :) If you look in the diorama section on the Bulge, I also love the recent white scout car and the way the driver is sculpted, I managed to capture a some shots of the driver through the windscreen - the sculpting and painting is simply unbelievably real. How do they do this??? Compare this with the 'toy soldier' look of the earlier paras - can't wait for the new ones.:D

Hi mate,i love that new white scout car.It looks wonderful in your pics and i really want one.I am going with a to get list on the 31st,and i might as well tear it up now.How on earth am i meant to walk into the K&C room(they now have a room!)and pick three or four things from everything laid out before me.Hey maybe we should lobby Tony for buy one get one free!!

Actually speaking of Tony,i havn't read many posts from him lately.I'm thinking he's snowed under with preperations for the 31st and getting the collector out to us.Can you imagine working at K&C for a living.Throw in Jennifer Aniston as your private secretary and its a dream job!
