At the OTSN, Ron Leh unveilled several different versions of magnificent Rolls Royce Armored Cars for his "Lawrence of Arabia" series. There were both 1914 and 1918 versions, with both an open (with a full figure turbaned gunner) and closed turret, incredible individually wired spoked or solid wheels, and even an officer you can have mounted on the running board. I opted for the 1914 open turreted version, with spoked wheels, the gunner and the officer on the running board.

I will take a couple of photos and forward them to Brad with a polite request that he post them on this thread (Ed Curiel has promised that he will teach me how to post the photos, but until then I have to impose on poor Brad :redface2:).:smile2:

Sounds like a fantastic model. Ron does stuff that never shows up on his website. -- Al

Here are the photos. Ron had very few of these but they were all very nice and well worth the money. I would suspect that they are or will be on the Lawrence section of his website.

Nice model! ^&cool The old RR was a great looking armoured car.

That is a very nice AC. If I can ask, what was the retail price? This would look good in my Somerset collection.^&cool -- Al

The base model is $200. Its an extra $50 for the spoked wheels, and a little bit extra for the officer and gunner figures as well. I think mine with all the extras was $265.

That is a lovely set at a reasonable price.

Thanks, Louis. As Damian said, that is a reasonable price and the spoke wheels are worth the extra bucks. Nice model. -- Al

Thanks for posting the photos, Brad!:smile2:

Hi Louis,
Could you please provide me with a link to the site, I would love to see these RRs. I have a couple of the Toy Army Workshop ones, both Desert and Western Front models and would love to see these!

Hi Louis,

Photos of the cars are on there but no prices as far as I could see. Nice looking sets.

Dave

Curious that the AC's are shown but no prices listed. I see, far as the prices go, Somerset have raised their prices, (as has everyone else has done), since I last checked their site. They do make beautiful figures. -- Al

Louis has advised that this RR AC may be available as a casting from from Somerset - so I have dashed off an e-mail enquiry to that effect for the one with the open cupola. If I get a positive response - I will advise here what the price is/are. Incidentally - some of the cars are shown in the Home Page of Somerset's web-site - but no prices given.
Nice set - so hope Louis is correct. johnnybach

That would be news to me. I've never seen Ron offer or sell any castings.
