I have an opportunity to buy one in mint condition and original box.

Being new to K&C product, I would appreciate any advice, etc.

Thanks,
Greg

Is that one of the early K&C with a separate main gun that you hold in place with putty? And coming from that early, it is probably 1:32 and not 1:30

Terry, I used to have the Crazy 8 Sherman, and if I remember correctly, the turret and gun are one casting. The gun does not elevate or anything like that, but it is factory attached. -- Al

I do have it and I believe it's 1:30. Just one of those great pieces made by K & C.

No. Is the DD 45 1/32 or 1/30? I also have the Battle of the Bulge one. What about the Figarti Shermans. I have two of those. I never got the HB Sherman (big mistake) and didn't get the K & C recent one.

I have a Figarti Sherman and think it is 1:30 but have not measured it. The Bulge wounded Sherman should also be 1:30.

Don't have the wounded Sherman but the one with Patton but not Patton.

The DD27 is 1/30 ish. It's comparable to the HB and Figarti Shermans in general dimensions.

Well, I put the DD 27 next to the BBA 15, the General Inspection Sherman, and it's a bit longer than the BBA 15. Then I put the DD 27 next to the Figarti Sherman with Fording Stacks (which I know Terry has) and the Figarti is longer than the DD 27.

So, it's time for Scale Wars! ^&grin

It's hard to compare - there are several Sherman versions. Their length varied from 230" to 248" and width from 103" to 118". That's enough to make a difference in determining scale. The DD027 is supposed to be an M4A3E8 Easy Eight which is a large Sherman.

Length 247" (not including gun overhang) at 1:30 scale the length of the model should be 8.25" and at 1:32 scale only 7.72". The 118" width is 3.93" at 1:30 and 3.69" at 1:32.

What is the length and width of DD27?

Interesting chat guys, but what about the price?

I know this used to go for at least 350$

I'm thinking somewhere between $250 and $275. I don't think it's as wanted as it used to be.
