Hi Guys,
There are times in this hobby and business when you just can’t win...Take Damian Clarke’s comment that he thought “Andy was being a bit lazy” by offering a winter’88 as well as a summer one and by putting out the limited edition “Winter Tiger”.
Let’s deal with the ’88 first...Even a few years ago K&C recognized that there was a need and demand for at least two versions of the ’88 — both winter and summer. Perhaps it escaped Damian’s notice but the crew for the winter version of the ’88 was completely different from the summer one and wearing winter camo uniforms.
On the “Winter Tiger”, K&C had received (as many on this forum will agree) countless wish lists and requests for a “winter” version of this famous tank. Not everyone could afford some of the prices for our very old “winter” Tiger. So it seemed logical to me to produce another version and with the addition of 5 brand-new crew figures and special packaging make it a wee bit unusual.
Now, I don’t know how Damian quantifies “lazy” in his book but I certainly don’t believe he can accuse me of a degree of sloth in this regard. If Andy really is “lazy” what does that make Honour Bound with their multiple Panthers and Kitchen sets or Figarti with their collection of Stuarts?
I honestly believe K&C, Honour Bound and Figarti (to name but three) are trying to provide collectors with a choice of vehicles to suit a wide range of collections reflecting different battles and campaigns in vastly different theatres of war.
Not one of these companies could or should be accused of laziness in our collective wish to improve and enhance our product lines and provide our collectors with even more choice and variety than the world of toy soldiers and military miniatures has even seen in the past.
Anyway, that’s my tuppence worth...it might even be more than that!
Best wishes and...lazily yours, happy collecting!
Andy C.
P.S. Who says Andy is too lazy to read all the posts on the forum?
