Here is Andy's response to my suggestions for additions to Field of Battle and the WWII Series:
Hi Polar,
Always good to hear from one of our collectors. Re your suggestions...
1. Women in WWII
Although, like you, I believe the role of women in wartime has been consistently undervalued and down-played from a “commercial” point-of-view their value has limited appeal to most collectors.
Fact of the matter is most collectors want “action” with a capital “A”. However, I believe we can from time-to-time slip in a relevant female character as we did noticeably with our two Russian “femme fatales” in “Fall of Berlin”. It’s still a good idea and I will continue to look at it. Thanks!
2. Other Military Branches
Definitely a yes! I am already looking at Luftwaffe personnel and we have a K&C Collector’s Club exclusive coming out of a German Kriegsmarine (Navy) on guard duty.
With the release of more “warbirds” I am definitely looking at more pilots...aircrew...and ground crew of both Axis and Allied sides.
3. African Americans in WWII
Again, a long-neglected area...at present am looking at US Artillery piece with a choice of white and black units.
Hope all of this answers at least some of your questions.
Best wishes and...happy collecting!
